@@sonjalewis3047 doves are everywhere in the summer and have a very distinct voice. If you're not into birds, songbirds for you do just "chirp". Kinda too generic.🙂
The sound reminds me of visiting my Grandparents. They always had doves in the garden. It's a comforting sound now.

Me too. My grandparents' old apartment was next to a huge park at the limits of the city and early in the morning, under the beautiful summer sun in Plovdiv, the doves were there. I now have them next to my current apartment 2000km away and every morning I think about my grandparents- such bittersweet sound.

I hear this bird ever morning, makes me smile.
I like the caw noise they make when they're about to land.
They make wonderful companion bird, as long as you have the time and desire to care for one. I raised my collared dove from a fledgling and she's my buddy for life.
I like these birds, they calm me down😃Thank you for sharing and have a nice weekend.

They’re adorable! Love doves! Lovey doveys! 🕊️ 🕊️
I am currently hearing this from my bed outside my bedroom window and I had to investigate what type of bird it was 😍
They always remind me of my late grandmother. My grandmother never usually swore or used bad language, but she always used to say that collared doves sound as if they are calling out: "Da-ddy's p*ssed!" I always laugh when I hear them.

I could sleep to this, I absolutely love how they sound.
These birds are so cute! 🥰 Their other call is funny and cute, too! It sounds like someone yelling, “Ha!” I remember seeing them many years ago in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, before my family and I departed for our cruise trip. At first, I mistook them for Mourning Doves, until I realized that they lacked spots on their wings, a distinguishable field mark in Mourning Doves, and spotted a collared ring on their neck, a field mark that Mourning Doves do not possess. It’s remarkable hearing how they made their way to the Caribbean and the U.S., and how they have still thrived. Thanks for sharing!

They do NOT sound like Mourning Doves. The Collared Doves, along with imported English Sparrows, House Finches, and (yes) Mockingbirds, create so much racket that we seldom get to hear the fantastic variety of OTHER birds' sounds. And of course, competing against the decibels of leaf blowers etc, does not help.
@BirdsandGhibliFan

@@sonjalewis3047 I’ve said that they look like Mourning Doves with a few field mark exceptions, not that they sound like Mourning Doves. I can obviously tell that both species’ coos sound vastly different, and I have grown up listening to Mourning Doves cooing most of my life to spot the difference. I can see that you’re not a fan of these doves, but you’re entitled to your opinion of them. When I visited Florida, they were not a nuisance to me, so my experience and opinion of them will obviously differ from yours.
I've been trying to find this for so long! Every source said it was a morning dove but it just didn't sound right. Now this is the sound I was looking for!

I live in Dubai and I've loved seeing and hearing Laughing Doves. Then today I saw a larger and collared variation with a bluish tinge and having this cool call. I've been binging on their videos ever since. That screech is just amazing, it sounds like it could be a parrot 😂 It's so cool to think they are capable of producing such very different sounds.

My childhood soundtrack.
These are everywhere where I live. These and mourning doves. I once started calling back to them and had the attention of two doves and a mockingbird.
I always get so many of these guys in my garden as we have a bird feeder and they will do this noise so much and what’s funny about it is when they do it they are usually chasing another dove whilst doing it and bowing up and down.
Damn i miss this sound When you’re a kid and you hear this, it means you’ve made it through the night
This reminds me of my childhood and love to wake up at 5am standing on the balcony outside and hearing this birds

I finally found what sound it was!!! Growing up, I always thought it was an Owl. Then, at some point, I just thought "Wait, how can it be an Owl when it's daytime outside?" So I kept on wondering what kind of bird or thing it was. I also thought it was possibly a dog that is very, very far away, and I might have heard its last remaining echos. But that while listening to the actual sound of this bird wouldn't make sense. So that wasn't a dog. So I instead of keeping on guessing on every possible thing the sound was, I looked up every possible bird it could possibly be, then I made it to this bird. I've unlocked my XBOX achievement there.
As a fun fact, the collared dove’s specific epithet - _decaocto_ - is Greek for the number eighteen, and is said to reflect a fanciful story where a housemaid, upset that her employers only paid her 18 pieces of silver a year, prayed to the Gods for guidance, and so they turned her into the dove so it could tell the world of the injustice she experienced by repeating the word ‘eighteen’ through its calls. If you listen carefully, it does kinda sound like the dove’s call matches up! ‘de-cao-cto!’
I always hear them in the morning! Such a wonderful bird!
now i know what keeps bloody waking me each morning
They’re so cute!!!!!🕊🕊🕊💜💜
Only birds I'd hear the first 11 years of my life
I've always wondered which bird made this noise! So distinct!
When I visited Hungary many years ago, we had one that used to land in a tree not far from where we were during the afternoons/early evenings. I used to look up and wonder what kind of bird that was because I couldn't see it very well. But now I know that it was a dove. It made the same sound everytime it landed (the first sound in this video)
THIS! This is my favorite bird call! I always wondered the name of this bird since I was a kid, so for like 16 years I guess? Every summer we go for vacation on the coast and when I hear these birds' call I always stop what I'm doing and tune into it, for me it means summer, relaxing, the sea, beautiful sunsets, calming down, peace, feeling happy and fulfilled.
So this is the bird that I have been hearing since I moved to Chico from Sacramento. Initially I thought it might be a Mourning Dove but the call just didn't sound the same. Thank you for posting the video.

I spent weeks trying to find what this bird was, and I kept going in circles because I was certain it was an owl...
My grandma used to own 2 doves named Herman and Love. I used to fall asleep in the den next to their cage and the sound sent me right to sleep
Nature is fantastic!
This brings back so many memories, I used to hear them in around 2018-2019, I don't hear any of them now they were my entire childhood.
I didn’t realize this is the bird I’ve been hearing all my life. Now that this same bird has visited me the times it made me look up what kind of bird it is. I feel like it picked me
I’m from Iowa and know the sound of mourning doves well. I live in Oregon now, and now I know the doves I hear all the time here aren’t weird-sounding mourning doves. Lol

Everyone's talking about how they remember mourning doves from ther child hood. For me it was these birds. Everytime I hear then I think of my childhood and I get all the nostalgia.
I always hear this bird over here in Baja California, especially in the morning when I wake up, it brings me peace
We have a lot of these that come to our garden. They often come in groups of ten and twelve, though at any given time there are one or two hanging around. They bring their babies with them too, once they are all fledged and well. I really enjoy when they relax and get comfy, because they flop down and then proceed to stretch out a wing, then the other and sit in various configurations and fanning their feathers out. They are just so lovely.
I FiNALLY FOUND FOUND IT, I LOVED THIS BIRD, INCLUDING THE CUCU SOUND
Lovely and peaceful birds to watch..., Reminds me of Adam & Eve times, when the Earth was once all beautiful and perfect, have a lovely day and love all birds...
This bird reminds me of childhood days of being at my dad's and outside on his farm exploring
Que hermosos animalitos,,,,en México las conocemos como palomas habaneras,,,,son preciosas 🥰
Most honestly the first sound is an instant classic
It remembers me of my grandparents they had neighbors And they bred pigeons thats pure nostalgia for me
this sound reminds me of summer break when i had nothing to do and i'd just stare on the abandoned factory building from my window listening to this. it's depressing but also nostalgic
I remember walking and wait for The Bus every morning I always hear that sound, it makes me I am in peace
I love these doves.
These birds made my childhood in Florida. So nostalgic
