I mean... He is a Psychopath. He can't empathise or feel guilt/remorse. He doesn't know how to love either, he has a lot of issues. So this does not surprise me, somebody needs to stop him before he does something horrific. There is only two ways I can see his character end up in the end of all of this, it's either jail or death. I simply do not see this character have a happy ending at all, at least at this moment. Edit: He is also a control freak. Just bunch of bad combinations.

I mean it was all manipulation from his side, if she really just kept her cool and just played along most likely and I am only saying most likely because knowing Nate he would have find some other way to get it, I mean he is always three steps ahead of everybody except that one time when Fezco beat his ass but anyways I think if Maddy controlled herself and didn't let him be in control she would still had the disc at least for some time more. Hell, she could lie and lie, make something up. Knowing how crazy Nate is she could have prepared for something like this and hid the disc somewhere that he would not find it and just pretend that she destroyed it or something I mean Maddy is not some clueless bimbo, she could have found a way to keep that disc.

Agreed! But you know what pisses me off the most?! F*cking your best friend's ex man is bad enough....but f*cking your VIOLENT best friend's ex man who physically abused her, and you're completely aware of the events....like....that is SO beyond me. Yeah, Cassie really has no self esteem and needs validation and has so many other issues, but choosing to get involved with a person who abused your friend....I truly have no words. This show is messing me up, lol.

A lot of people saying the 'smile you're on camera' sign was hinting at Maddy possibly recording the interaction with her and Nate. I think its possible and I hope it's true! That moment at 1:00-1:04 made me think Maddy had something else going on that we don't know about. Also, maybe thats why she changed in the bathroom in her room and not in the main part of her room? Idk we'll see! But the idea of secretly recording someone without them knowing was actually brought up earlier in the episode too when we saw the hidden camera in the closet of the woman Maddy babysits for. I doubt the two things are actually related tho.

The fact that he was only able to do this once he believed Maddy would never forgive and was done with him. Like once he decided she was no longer someone he could control or emotionally toy with he terrorized her all so he could get his thrill out of establishing dominance over her if only for a last time (of course he would never admit that even to himself). Instead he rationalizes it as ‘doing what he had to’ in order to do a good thing for Jules…when he really thought he could use his abuse towards Maddie to manipulate a situation where he’s Jules hero 🤢 (I feel like he’s playing the long game with her & unfortunately I can only hope Jules doesn’t give him any chances whatsoever) And all the while settling for Cassie cause he knows he can do whatever he wants to her and she’ll let him ugh. She knows she deserves the world, she knows what she wants in life since she was a little girl: a glamorous life that is nothing like her upbringing and she is just bad ass. I personally believe she had a toxic dynamic with Nate and had a weakness for him because at one point, Nate made her feel protected. It is SO hard to see the bad in someone that you so desperately want to be the right fit for you. The whole "you need to love yourself first" narrative has never sat well with me because it feels like saying you aren't worthy of love because of your inner struggles. I know it is well intentioned, and I know this is just a show and these are are fictional characters, but sometimes it isn't so black and white.
