YES!!!!!!!!;) I've been looking specifically for a dual suspension, dual motor bike that you CAN pedal. The grizzly came close, but from most reviews it's not nice to pedal -- much more of a moped. This bike however is VERY pedalable (officially a word) and has made it to the top of my list!!!;) Also subscribed, this channel should have more subs, you do an excellent job!!!;)

With dual batteries, this would be a great bike for exploring. That single track showed off the suspension, but a single motor with 2000 watts would be more nimble in the corners. I ride single tracks a lot, but some of the hills are steeper than 20%, and a front motor would just spin. Thanks for another great video!

The upgrade from the 14AH internal battery to the 17AH internal battery is $530. It looks like you can buy the 17AH internal battery under their accessories for only $599. So, for only $60 more than the 17AH upgrade, you could get BOTH the 14AH AND 17AH internal batteries. They really don't give you much credit for the 14AH battery toward the 17AH upgrade. Very cool bike though. Thinking of replacing my Rad Rover 5 with one.

For the closest comparison to the Defender S I recommend you review the "E-CELLS" bike. 2 motors, 2 batteries, dual suspension. $4,795. for the top Monarch Crown model. Yeah, very heavy at 95 lbs. but quite high quality in build and components. E-CELLS is based in Parumph, NV, just 40 miles north Las Vegas. For me that's virtually "local". P.S. you will find the E-Cells Super Monarch Crown has higher quality components than the Eunorau Defender all across the board. Yeah, the $4,800. price is "mid range" for a quality EMTB but there are a LOT of extras with the E-CELLS bike so a great bargain overall.

Want to FYI on most DIY Dual or AWDs. Most ppl set up their Duals with high wattage DD gearless motor hubs which one downfall they likely come across is the Brake System not meant to handle powerful torques of speed as with the mass added total weight, the brake system will flutter as I believe this topic most DIY Dual users not talking about but it's obvious they having issues of keeping brake system stable. Remember, bikes and their systems mean to for 20 mph as top speed for practical use.

In the Letric Neom 20 LS folding bike, I installed a 350 W 36V hub motor in the front wheel, which I drive with the gas lever on more difficult slopes, and with the existing 250W motor in the rear wheel, even more difficult slopes can be overcome. The cost of the conversion was approx. 200€, and the additional battery is from a 4Ah string mower. Link; 2wd e bikes. LP Tommy Stone

Hills! Big problem we're i live, leaving my house i coast about an eighth of mile then about 200 feet flat then up hill for a bit, everywhere i go is like this, i couldn't ride around here without the help of the electric motor, I'd like to know how long that battery would last in my area? The bike i have has dual 20ah batteries n i can go a lil over 10 miles per battery, considering the heavy bike (fat tire trike) and me, I'm fat , the reason I started riding n is working... Man, i can't justify the price, agreed it's a nice ebike but, $3000 Is a lot, I'll have to stick to building my own, $800 to build my trike, that includes 500 for the bike...

@@EbikeEscape I built a Turbo Boost 350watt Gear ⚙️ with 2000watts Turbo Boost or my warp drive thrusters. I can go over 20 miles non stop full throttle on my 350 assisted by the 2000 watt boost going over 32mph( can do more but why on busy Blvd) This set up cut my energy outage by Half. Going up hills I can go 34 tops of steep long hills not little hills but the steep ones. Before the Dual I could ONLY top 20mph on the 350 gear while my DD e bike tops 40mph but can't go long distance on full throttle without motor cutt off to cool down. Now, with my set up, bike is only 80lbs, no burning out motor or battery. I did my math for months studying others builds as I came up this methods for overall practical performance and energy efficiency. Only hooked up the motor wires, battery, and throttle bar of the 2000watt having NO CLUTTER junk while keeping bike light as possible. Pro builds should use this standard of the type of motor for many builds overkill as jus EYE Candy. My Dual outperforms the factory custom made ones as I can go up hills using just 1 motor instead of having to use both. Not motor add on but more a Turbo Boost accelerated gearless DD made for this.

The key to this is the Cruise Control off the Gear ⚙️ as this mode let's me add the 2000watt having no start off torque minimizing the wattage. You really have to think thru your Dual DYI to ensure it is not overkill of a burden later on. I wouldn't waste my time any other way for total cost of my build is 1400$ but outperforms the 5000$ and up factory made Duals or jus singles. My range now is 80 miles, 120 plus with PAS while having e bike easy to handle of only 80.lbs. I know this set up will be used more of being Practical and Efficient.

@@odalv7278 It's easy build of taking a Gear motor e bike of adding a 1500 or higher watts Gearless motor as turbo booster. Just use the extra throttle bar on left handle bars, hook up the main motor connectors along with controller n 2nd battery, no need to hook up extra set of parts over these. The purpose is to go long distance of over five to 10 mile non stop trip at high speeds of 36 to 40 mph. Trick is to use cruise control off the Gear motor and turn on the Gearless and you out n about.

i have a 2nd motor on my bike its 500watt rewound bafang modified ,its only used for launch control ,push to pass boost ,or switch to front only on .long flat road for an eco type power saving, i never run the 2 together all the time, as the rear motor can hit 100 mph if the wind is right

i must admit ive run those bafang motors on 84 volts with 150 amp dc controllers and they can be made to go seriously fast for such a small motor have to watch their heat though ,they can get bit to hot if not carefull at that power

This is a terrible bike for what it’s trying to be. Which is a trail bike. Instead of two dual hub motors they should have gone with a Bafang G620 mid drive which will provide a torque sensing power delivery that a bike like this needs. Just look at the housing on the frame. It’s clear that a mid drive motor is supposed to go there. As it stands this bike is a hack job and at this price you’re much better off buying a Sondors Rockstar.

I don't personally view this as a trail bike, or at least what I view as trails. The tires are too wide to be nimble. I don't think a mid-drive can match the traction you get from having 2 motors but I agree unless you NEED two motors for snow or something there are lots of other great options out there. I still think this bike is a blast.

i'm looking for a fat tire ebike for snow season at my trails. this is currently top of my list. how did they manage to keep it at 80 lbs with 2 motors !! what does the range look like ? what are similar priced comparables but only with fully integrated batteries no humps here

There is a larger battery available, that fits into the frame. Range is not the greatest when throttling on two motors, as you can imagine. But if you are reasonable with the power, you could get some decent numbers out of the 17Ah battery. 30ish miles is achievable.

@@EbikeEscape that's not bad at all. it is almost perfect for flowy snow trails then. also now i just to figure out transportation no way any any universal no-hitch bike rack can carry this beast safely at 80lbs

I do not need rear suspension, need two or with trailer good to have 3 bat. 3 bats in parallel means Current divided by 3 so lossess internal and cabling goes with square IxI/(3×3) so lossess reduced 3x 1/9 what is reduction roughly 2.5 times will be drop voltage and some lossess on modules to connect batteries in parallel. You have to test this bike with 2 batteries not only one.

Cannot understand those people do not know how to sell el bike the same with hybrid cars real deals. On website there is data max speed 45km/h, ???? For one motor only???or???? I am 115kg plus 5kg backpack around 120kg, There is part of road where push to max speed sometimes, Have two batteries, upwind medium strong 54km/ h and down wind 58km/h??? That is more than one class above from website advertising. When bought bike had one bat , max current has been set 15A that is with full battery 750W, nominal value for one motor, I moved to 22A, later bought 2nd battery and lift max to max available 30A max that is enough for 2 times 750W when battery above 70%. With 2 motors it is very easy reach and ride at 40 or 50km/h a nd firmly hold the speed upwind and uphill or low incline. Two motors nice firm acceleration and distribution of force over bike. Maybe they have one controler so cannot control precisely each motor so put max 30A what is nominal power for bouth motors, peak for each motor is 1100 to 1200W what can gives you 2200 to 2400W , 48A required to split between motors? Probably firmly would be able to reach above 60km/ h ????? I ride mid drive bafang 1000W nominal, max peak 1500W, max speed above 50km/h but that goes through changing gears, it is one class below of Defender S dual motors. Heavy steady at the front stronger fork motor peaks well over 1000W, on flat run front wheel pedal rear one even in pass1 very nice steady ride just flow over any bump and tree roots on pathway, downhill over 50km/h no any vibrations. When you go steep hill just turn both motors on with your easy pedalling run fast even over bigger hills. Must have two even 3 batteries for longer runs. Front motor pulls you over do not dig in before any rise, 2 motors can pull 45A peak that will cause huge sag of voltage and reduced performance with single battery even can reduce lifespan of the battery . Position angle of the fork , soft suspension ( like Talaria) and longer distance between wheels makes ride far more plesent in turns with speed and even over serious tree roots in trails and parks which normally through you out of sedle. Mechanicaklly bike excellent. This is the top real ebike with meaningfull pedalling, efficiency, power, range. For faster need moped not ebike and 20-30cm lower sitting position at speeds over 35km/h pedalling lost meaning. At 40km/h required power 1000W you input 100W? With lowering and reducing air drag you benefit more , without pedalling can have better susspension real soft, and proper safety gear required at higher speeds., weight and not pedal friendly. When you upgrade you got both batteties 14Ah and 17Ah. Bike needs min 2 batteries , good option 3 batteries. Max current can be close up to 50A, 45A /3 is 15A still big current you do not want go over 10A for long ride. 2x10A is 20A what gives you avg speed 40km/h and 1000W required. For speed 32km/h the real speed for bike requires 500W and 500Wh in 1 h . 3x 17Ah =51Ah x 48V gives 2500Wh when divided by 500Wh gives you 3-5h of high speed ride, no worries about bateries - range at 32km/h avg speed range 150km? At 25km/h well over 200km! You have to sit on bike 8+h ??

You have to test bike with 2 batteries, power lossess are going with I x I square of current I 45A is very high current should not go more than 20A for single bat. This design needs 2 bat otherwise you bought wrong ebike if only one bat. with 2 bat will have on each 1/4 lossess of one because of 2 x 1/4 lossess will be of 2 bat half of one bat, voltage much higher at full power and power and torque much bigger with 2 bat. and normal driving 400W will pull 8A current, when divide on two parallel bateries you half lossess in voltage 2x 1/4 power dissipation , one bat pulls ax 45A on near full bat that causes big lossess on cabling and internal bat resistance. With 2 bat each one will provide 22A with much lower lossess of voltage and power on cabling and internal resistance. 750W motor is excellent hub motor has power but still efficient at 20-25km/h 90% of time speed. With 750W hub motor and 26x4 tires got 10km more range with cadence sensor, than with 1000W mid drive motor with torque sensor, with similar driving and avg speed. Smaller motor and cadence sensor power management enables much better efficiency with the same bat 15% bigger range with fat tires against 26x2.6 tires? Torque sensor whener you press you got power more. Cadence sensor when you reach pas1 speed 21km/h you press more get one km more but power from battery dropping down as you press more. Speeding up with 50% + power what is more efficient than with 25% , do not have curves but around 30% power down efficiency falling quickly down.
