He and John Candy were hilarious as the Schmenge Brothers. "Hey, let's polka! Two, three, four. Cabbage rolls and coffee. Mm, mm, good!" Love him!

I've loved both Eugene & Marty since the 70s/80s when they were in SCTV. Both are from my hometown: Hamilton, Ontario Canada

Yah did Canada a solid. As soon as I see him I think of, and forgive me, John Candy and their comedy troupe, SCTV, which included Martin Short, Andre Martin, Catherine O'Hara, Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas, Joe Flaherty... who performed out of Edmonton, Canada.... hilarious and brilliant work.

Eugene Levy deserves his star...he should've gotten it years ago. If they ever make a movie about Edgar Ulmer, the old-time B (and C and D and Z) movie director, Levy would be a natural lead. Ulmer was a go-your-own-way type, a character in his own right, and Levy, while not THAT offbeat, would be perfect.

I picture Eugene with John Candy in SCTVs Doctor tongues house of stewardesses...an Oscar winning performance ...well deserved Mr Levy 😀

I remember first seeing Levy on SCTV in the lates 70's, late at night, when in jr. high.

lol Daniel walking into the hotel and crying. David rose walking into the Schitts creek motel in the first episode and crying.

LOL I live in Burlington. I remember them at the library doing that play. It was such a small space yet they did plays and had concerts there. Martin Short had a cottage up where ours was - so do Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.

One of my favorite people. I was about 13 or 14 when Splash came out and I remember his running joke threw out the film saying, "What a week I'm having!". I thought it was the funniest thing. And then a couple years later, Armed and Dangerous came out. I am still laughing at the scene in the adult book store with him and John Candy. 😂

While in college I worked at WFSU-TV, and my first assignment was to edit out all the black (for commercial breaks) from every episode of SCTV - on videotape! I got to see every show❣ Huge fan ever since. 🎉🎬🍸

Johnny Carson was a fan of SCTV and had Catherine O'Hara and Martin Short (and Celine Dion, too!) on for a chat. At different times. And the other guest on with Martin Short was Betty Davis! WOW! He also lived next door to my sister in Toronto. In the downtown. Eugene Levy also played "Alex Trebek" in the spoof version of Reach For The Top. It was the Canadian high school quiz show produced across Canada by the CBC. In the 1960s-1970s.

First time I saw Eugene Levy was in Splash! Even in a costarring role, he was great!
