Is there an alternative aftermarket solar panel that is compatible with the Eufy cams?

I had ring cameras with solar (micro usb). Sold my ring camera and plug ring solar to eufy 2c. no problems.

Great vid! will any small solar panel which has the same usb type plug work or is it a specific voltage?

Did you change the settings in the app ? You should switch power source from battery to solar panel.

I'm curious to hear your initial thoughts on their new product lineup of security cameras.

You have to set it to solar charging in power management/power source. I didn’t see you do that and when you do, at the display of all cameras screen it doesn’t indicate if it’s charging as the video shows.

my brother just bought one of these still waiting for his opinion before I buy one. Also, do you know eufy cameras will have a memorial weekend sale? Thinking about buying two more 2c or 2c pro cameras, the ones I have work really well IMO just need two more for hidden spots.

Where did you get these? Still out of stock on Amazon Canada and unfortunately the Eufy site does not ship to Canada

Do you use your cameras with the eufy app or do you use HomeKit?

The solar panels are not “designed for slow trickle charging” - that’s just a fact of life with solar chargers. You made it sound like it was an intentional choice by Eufy to make them charge slowly when in fact they are designed for the maximum possible charge rate for a panel of their size.

Does not recharging always the battery with a solar panel or a microusb cable ruins the battery itself, or di the camera will prevent continuous recharging?

Got mine from eufylife germany, deliverd to Denmark in 2 days. There's a big difference, in what we can purchase, between US and EU, for example I can't buy the cat drinking fountain. Hope they get better.

I've been waiting for these to come out, as the "6-12 months battery charge" has been laughable...more like 2-4 months. But $60 for a solar panel is outrageous. I'll be evaluating some aftermarket options before I try one of these.

All my cameras are 1080p and I use the Wasserstein Solar Panel they keep a 100% charge. currently $25.99 at Amazon.

I bought an aftermarket panel from another vendor for about half the price as the Eufy panel. When I plugged it in the battery was at about 35%, and in a couple of weeks it was fully charged to 100%, and now six months later the battery in that camera has never dropped below 100%.

@@5thGenNativeTexan who was the aftermarket? Got a link? I got a doorbell one and in Amazon there's a vendor that says you can use it. Does not make sense since the micro USB is in the back cover by the wall

@@mcalexchangzouker8609 Not sure how you'd hook up a solar panel to the doorbell version. But for typical Eufycams like the 2 and 2 Pro, 2C/2C Pro, and E/ E20/E40, which you can plug the USB into the back, there are a lot of aftermarket solar panels for them.

Having it sit in the rain gutter, did you notice a concern of when there is heavy down pour that the panel would be submerged in water? Thanks and great video

Will this solar panel work with eufy solo cam e40 or e20 cameras?

I just hooked up the solar panel to my s330 to see if it works and it does. the top of the solar panel on the s330 was pealing like dried skin after a two years so i installed it under the soffit and hooked up the solar panel. we'll see how it does and yes the camera settings is set to solar.

What battery cam do you recommend for a small construction site? In particular night vision cams?

Great video! Why do you have 2 home bases? I'm looking to get into the Eufy ecosystem so I was curios about that. Do you have different sets of cameras connected to different bases?

That is possible for different ends of my building covering each side of my business with 4 cameras on each eufy Homebase 2 home bases.

Did you ever do a follow up video?

I had Eufy 2 cameras... got my money back... they missed alot of motion of people walking by on my sidewalk... I even tested them with me walking along the sidewalk... I liked the Arlo cameras better

Not in the shade. That camera had to wait for the sun to get to that side of the house before it started charging.

@@SteveDOES Did it get water damaged being in the gutter? I’m trying to figure out a way to fix mine without it being super obvious, and when it rains here it’s like a monsoon downpour. So even though the panel says it’s waterproof, I don’t know how well it would do essentially sitting in a pool of water while it’s raining.

@@TheDazza great point. I'm here in California, and we don't get much rain. If you're getting that much rain i'd avoid setting it in your gutters.

@@SteveDOES I’m in Australia, so it’s hot and dry about 70% of the time. But when it rains… it rains. Hmm, I might need to figure out another way to attach it without the Body Corp (HOA) noticing it. Thank you!

Seems to be USA only at the moment, not available to New Zealand. I want one for a 2C I've got

I'm also after one for my 2c in Australia - Eufy really need to sort their supply chain out - you cannot buy a certified panel from any std channel here e.g. direct,amazon etc. The only ones available are overpriced rubbish from Chinese websites where the overcharge protection would presumably be non-existant ?

I have eufycam pro 2 (4 cams around the house) and battery doesn't last 6 months...With sensor high and motion sensor for everything it last around 3 weeks. So every 3 weeks cams needs to be plug charged. Other issues, I had an illegal car park on my property ( we speak about 4 meters distance max from the camera, high sensor on max levels) and didn't record anything. It recorded only when the car left (could see in the footage only the departure but no notification or record on arriving). Reported to support Eufy inside the app and never got a response from Eufy. Storage is terrible, if you dont have the cloud payment. With 4 cameras 15 GB provided by the homebase with no options to increase(what's the purpose of the extra usb??) needs to be cleaned after 2 weeks, my case sensitive motion is on max.Recorded events are 60sec and 99% of the time because of delays it records irrelevant details. If you are worried about security DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. Of course with all the respect for this video content i mean eufycam pro 2 as product.

It wasn't really bright in slamming the solar panel face down on the masonry garden bed!

I don’t know what I did but the Eufy cam system I got just misses the action. Like UPS drops a package and all that’s recorded is them getting back in the truck. Missing about ten seconds. It’s crazy because I watched a ton of videos reviewing them and nobody mentioned that, however now I see reviews about this issue. I am beginning to mistrust even you tube reviewers at this point.

Slow wifi or weak signal?

One thing to keep in mind is that the last 20% charge takes the longest. It's more of a safety feature, This applies to all batteries.

Omg 4 cameras 4 solar panels

First... The battery life claims are laughable. Second.. the best placement for these solar panels is at the bottom of the nearest trashcan.
