They should be able to add animal detection pretty easily I would imagine with a firmware update. Definitely agree that having the 4g as a backup option to wifi would be excellent.
I've purchased 2 sets of Eufy camera kits based on your reviews. The eufy security eufyCam 3C 4-Cam Kit, Security Camera Outdoor Wireless, 4K Camera, with the accompanying solar panels. Overall Ive been happy with the cameras. However, I have to point out that out of each set, I now have one camera from each, that is not updating and not working. When I contacted Eufy for support, I was told that the cameras are made by different manufacturers and there is a discrepancy in the quality of the cameras. I think this is an issue you should check into
thanks so much for this review, I was looking at this camera
Great video as always. Looking forward to the comparison video with the S340 camera. Let’s see if there is a difference in video quality between the two cameras.

If you search for the comparison you’re referring to in KZread, someone else has already done it… and honestly, the s340 looks better, just has less-powerful spotlight. Outside of the LTE capabilities, I don’t see why anyone would buy this newer model.
Excellent review, thank you very much. Note that the camera movement is very smooth without any noise . I wish the Capster battery could be integrated into the same solar panel.

Fantastic review as usual! Thanks for looking at these inivative consumer options. Just wondering is there a projection on what the 4G would cost somebody per month per camera?😊
If the lte wasn’t a huge concern would you pick this one or the s340?
Great review as always! Off-topic, when are you going to do a review of the new ring battery doorbell pro that was released last week?

Hello LH! I watched your video on the Eufy 4G LTE S330 it was informative. I need a remote camera for some property that I have off the grid and AT&T is the only cellular service that works on my property. Is Eufy the best cellular camera that you recommend for remote video recording when your property is off the grid like mine? Thank you!

Hey! Thanks so much for the awesome review, I’ve a question, have the motion sensor work if the camera is pointing in (x directions) and the a person is coming from behind (like 180 degrees) will the camera detect it and turn 180 to catch the person/motion? Thanks!
Hey, does this work with an independent sim card? international sims etc. Will be using this outside of the US & EU
Great video, please review the Reolink RLC-823S2

I have Eufy cameras, and their customer service is horrible, and they don’t stand by their products
I do not have Home Base 3. Can i still use this as a standalone and connect direct to Wifi or would i be better off with something like the Arlo Go 2 ? I do like the idea of a 4G back up
I realized not all eufy cameras are 24/7 recording. Does this have 24/7 or just motion detection? Thank you!
Hi, Does it support Cloud Storage?
You're reviews are so good, quick and to the point. As a thought, why don't they produce color night cameras from here on forward and stop producing gray scale night mode as I would presume current day black and white cameras are becoming obsolete such as hollywood silent movies. Hmm

I have indoor pan and tilt facing outside and so homebase one with cameras. Notifications are sometimes minutes away. Thats really bad as I could be robbed and they got away by then.
One of my cameras is extremely far away from my homebase 3 and has a weak signal. Is there a way to add an extender or boost the signal without moving the homebase ?
hi, will the camera work with sim cards for example in Poland or Bulgaria
Thank you.

Can it be used indoor? Can you plug in wall power outlet instead of charging it through solar?
How long is the connecting cable between the solar panel and the camera?
Does the camera support "continuous recording"? Thank you in advance
Can you do a comparison video of eufy 4G LTE Cam S330 VS SoloCam S340 ? I’ve been trying to watch other videos that do comparisons between those 2 but I can’t get thru their videos. No one does camera review/comparison videos better than you!!
I have a Ring Floodlight Cam that I purchased over 5 years ago. Is there a better option? I also have a newer Floodlight Cam for my backyard that’s about 2 1/2 years old, along with a Ring wired doorbell.

I’m wondering if an antenna can be connected to enhance the LTE signal. 🤔
Do I of to get the home-base if I want to use it with the wifi
If I have multiple cameras do I need separate SIM cards ?
After seeing the video quality, I see zero compelling reason to upgrade to this from the S340 that I currently have which has got the 3K lens and the telephoto 2K lens. And still 15fps.

13:00 how much GB it takes via SIM - if you will watch the live video 1-3 times per day for 1 minute ?
So whats better 330 or 340 ?
EIOT club is so uncompetitive price-wise Vs prepaid data only sim card packages. Problem is setting custom APN settings on the old Eufy cam was so bug ridden. I've setup a couple of the older 4g LTE starlite cameras and it always took about 10 attempts for the camera to accept the new SIM card on custom app settings. Would have been good to see a review where you try and connect to a different SIM card.
Is it easy to switch from LTE to WiFi? I want to use this at my camp for the summer on WiFi and then purchase the LTE option for my 7 months of off season where WiFi will not be an option, thank you. Great video👍
Wait so if i connect this camera to the homebase, then i dont have to pay any extra fees/subscriptions?
Any difference between S330 & S340 ? Do prefer anyone over the other? TY
@LifeHackster

I’ll be comparing both soon. The main difference is the 4G connection and 4K and the S340 has dual lens.

Installed it today. Feel it’s not a mature product. Several problems. 1. preposition can’t hold, lens dropped 1 or 2 clicks sometimes; lens suddenly moving to center position and recording. 2. Can’t detect vehicles if it’s moving fast in my driveway (3 to 5 feet away). 3. Solar panel not working at all. 4. Slow push notifications
I have to agree, eufy should definitely connect to the 4g network whenever it loses connection to my wifi router. The night vision is decent, but I just prefer the color night vision like my wyze cam. Overall, this camera is definitely good pick.

@@somethingkindawonderful3034 They are always shady about it. Don't know why but most of the time they want you to use the sim card that comes with the camera... Which is not always the cheapest option. I tried 2 different 4G cameras from Amazon and none of them worked with regular SIM cards. Will try to test this new Eufy as well. Thank you for sharing your experience 👍

WiFi is the best option 😊
They should start implementing an AI feature that recognizes first person entering the shot then follow up with the 2nd person goinh in opposite direction (for 3-4 seconds) than quickly go back on the 1st one. I don't know how that might serve tho.
No animal detection?? OK, thank you. I'd never buy this one. I have 8 other Eufy indoor and outdoor cams, can't believe they removed the animal detection on a most expensive Eufy cam.

Aren’t people animals? It seems like if it can detect humans then it can detect animals also.
Frame rate on battery PTZ are always a let down in my opinion. 15 FPS is very noticeable specially when both the target and the camera move
Eufy has NO multi camera play even through app. They made it so you can only multi stream through a web portal BUT you can only access the view with a 1 time code through the app and access expires after 24 hrs requiring you to get another code ans start over
I was about to say this is amazing... then saw the video quality =( Disappointing 4k. Looked like720p. they get the video quality to true 4k and 30fps its a winner
Note: this camera has an IP55 rating.
Nothing replaces a wide field of view. There was a camera that had a wide and telephoto camera that tracked and that is probably the best solution but in most cases I'll take a wide field of view and a 2k or 4k resolution with a decent bitrate over a narrow field of view with tracking. The Arlo Ultra still sits on my house with its 180degree FOV and good enough bitrate, Homekit integration, Apple TV Activity Notification, etc. Yes this is a 4G Solar, and if you need that its probably as good as you can reasonably expect. I just hate Eufy's lack of support for their products. Once you buy their product, they are on to the next product and good luck getting any bug fixes. My S40 cameras still think my German Shepherd Dog is a Person everytime it sees it. From day one, Person only notifications were never working and still aren't.
@LifeHackster

I agree. I liked the recently released Duo 3 because of its 180 FOV.
It’s really a shame eufy is making such good hardware just to wall it into their own ecosystem. If they’d allow RTSP on more of their devices so I could save the recordings to my NAS it’d probably be the only cameras I’d buy.
Can we change where we do the testing to make it more real life scenario. You should test in the front yard. Ideally you're worried about someone coming up to your house and then leaving by car. Shooting in the back doesn't really show if the camera has potential to capture important moments
@LifeHackster
2 ай бұрын
My backyard is my testing ground for the cameras because it is the closest area I can get to be constant and doesn’t change a lot so that you can easily compare the performance of any camera even if I don’t have a direct comparison video. As to your question about if a person came in and left in a vehicle. As long as you set both person and vehicle detection to ON, then you will get a footage.
@BG-ir1ii
2 ай бұрын
This is a very solid suggestion to reflect real-world performance testing. I bought two Solocam S340 and HB3 after LH's review, installed them in front of the house, under eaves 3 meters high, then paired with HB3. Hoping to capture vehicles going and coming onto the driveway, also people walking on the front lawn. Oh boy, what a disappointment as they miss lots of events 50% of the time. Even miss recording me mowing the lawn. It's been more than 2 months now and still not happy with these cameras. Solar panel performs well or maybe because the cameras are not working well enough to consume battery. The cameras have updated already with 2 rounds of firmwares but motion detection performance is still below average. It is a let down big time by Eufy and now I am contemplating to bin the cameras and go back to Arlo.
