    having played both, the main difference is that in ETS you have maybe a few hours leeway on your delivery schedule, whereas in ATS you get a day and a half... In ETS, dispatchers always want it delivered last week, in ATS sometime next month seems to be OK.

    @@leecarrington1932 Yeah, TS should lean more into the time management side of trucking. It feels like you're on a casual sunday drive sighseeing and not on work. The Hard Truck series, although more of an open world racing game series than a straight up simulator, spiced things up with strict time limits and delivery competitions with other truckers.

  • @Winchester1979

    @Winchester1979

    IIRC both ATS and ETS2 uses the same formula to calculate how long the delivery should take, which is an average of 60 kph/40 mph. Given that some states allow you to go almost twice that fast on the interstates, you'll never be in danger of being late unless you drive like a grandma in ATS, or on specific delivery routes (across the mountains between Nevada and Colorado for example). In ETS2, it's a bit easier to be late, since you can actually be forced to use roads where you can't go faster than the calculated average. (Germany has a speed limit of 60 kph if you're in a truck off the highways.

    @@Winchester1979 Great technical explanation! Yeah I rarely has to go under 40 mph in ATS except when driving in cities so it makes sense now how I frequently end up with like 6+ hours of time left compared to ETS' ~1 hour especially if there's a detour!

Depends on the mood maybe. I would say that parking is a bit more challenging in ATS though with the bigger trailers and longer wheelbases + tighter loading yards in some places. So I slightly prefer the bigger challenge that ATS gives me in that respect, plus I've always had a soft spot for long hood conventional trucks such as Pete 389 which is my favorite! I found out that the 53ft step deck gets you the highest $ per mile and it’s so easy to maneuver. 30+ hour deliveries pay heaps of money. So much so, that I own 12 trucks, 10 employees, and 8 or 9 trailers that range from 53ft to triples.

    I played both of them, and just recently using Promods. And one of the interesting + annoying thing is how some of the location of Promods's add-on companies. For example, I was surprised to see that I had to park the trailer manually (that I took from Job Markets). The thing is, that it was in the middle of the night, It was dark + Autumn mods was on, so even darker. And the location that I had to parked the trailer to finish the job was really tight, and there were a few cars parked near, and there wasn't any way to reverse the truck without crashing the cars. Basically I done it not less than 10 minutes IRL

    the funny thing about this is that IRL when it comes to traffic jams its totaly different because EU trucks are required to stay in the right lane but if the trafic jam happens on a 3 lane road trucks can also go into the middle lane but if they where allready on it when they got into the traffic jam and they cant switch lanes

  • @computer_toucher

    @computer_toucher

    2 ай бұрын

    No, you're not REQUIRED to stay in the right lane. It's just that most highways have 100-120 Km/h speed limits, and you're not allowed to go faster than 80 or 90, depending on the country. You are allowed to overtake in the left lane, it's just that you're not allowed to hinder traffic by being too slow either - which is why you /mostly/ stay to the right. If you've ever driven on the Autobahn or other places in Europe, you've experienced the annoyance of the semi that's overtaking another by going 2 Km/h faster than the one on the right lol.

  • @JVerschueren

    1:46 you need to come to a full stop before proceeding into the junction. You made a "rolling stop" both times, so you got randomly fined once, just like running a red light in ETS2. Now, in real life, cops will usually not fine you, certainly not when you drive an 18-wheeler and the junction was clear, but, technically, they could and you know the game is zero tolerance when it comes to fines. 6:08 don't go completely into the turn lane and take a wider swing... extra points if you can knock over the white on blue arrow in the centre with the trailer's headboard. (Yes, I'm such a child* 😁). I think in most cases the ETS player is the same person as the ATS player, so, unless we all have split personalities, I think it's futile to look for differences or stereotypes. (*): That said, in real life, I think I'd be sorely tempted to "tweak" inconveniently placed road furniture, just to make a point.

And when and AI run in to me or me in to him, i'm just keep going like if that was just a fly hitting my windshield.
