Etihad A380 First Class Apartment - World’s Best?
The king of the skies - A380 is back at Etihad. I sampled some of the finest First Class premium experiences onboard Etihad A380 from London to Abu Dhabi.
Etihad A380s were grounded and stored in Teruel, Spain. Earlier this year, the airline made an announcement that 4 of its A380 will be returning to service flying between London and Abu Dhabi. The Captain gave a thorough briefing of the flight and how the crew has to re-qualify to fly on the A380. Enjoy the takeoff footage from the cockpit.
Etihad has 9 First Class apartments in unique seating configurations. The best seat is window seat 4A and 4K with forward facing. During the flight, I sampled their First Class offerings of pajamas, amenities, food, and beverage including caviar and steak cooked to my liking. The ottoman can be converted into a flatbed while you still have space. This unconventional design makes the Etihad First Class apartment stand out. I was even offered a shower at 39,000 feet.
Before landing, I have an opportunity to visit The Residence which is a 3-room suite with your own living room, bathroom and bedroom. After the flight, I gave my full verdict on Etihad A380 First Class.

Hi Sam, This is Raja from Hyderabad,India. Whenever we see your aviation videos, we feel like we are flying with you and experience everything along with you. You are a person who is very humble and honest. Though we cannot afford to fly in a Business Class or on a First Class in the flights, we visualize through your experience and share it with family & friends. My wife is a huge admirer of you and shared her Best Wishes and Regards to You and your family members. We always love you, Sam.

The Go Pro video in the cockpit was amazing. The pilots from the back, from the front, looking down on them from in front, and views out the front windows. I’ve never seen anything like it in aviation videos.

Me too!! I was wondering what can of camera it was. That was 🔥🔥
I love that you say you no longer do reviews. I agree, there are enough of those u-tubers out there often doing very negative and antagonistic reviews. Your videos are different, documentary in style and show you having really nice interactions with the cabin crew and pilots because they trust you and they know you are not going to criticise them. Keep up this positive friendly approach, it's such a joy to watch. :)

Thank you for your comment. I decided no longer do review as I want to present it as a travel show, with a focus on more behind the scenes and I chose to present it fairly and constructively if any criticism.
The A380 is a luxury spaceship! What a wonderful video, thanks to Ethiad for letting us all in on the experience!

The 747 was always known as the queen of the skies. The A380, for me on the other hand is the king of the skies. The sheer presence, the flying nature truly makes it the best the industry has ever seen. It’s a monumental moment to see the ethiad a380 return to service and looking forward to flying it soon. Thanks sam for the lovely video as always, cheers
I really like your idea of ''flight experience''. I think that the most common purpose of watching flight reviews is to feel the flight. Thank you for all of your efforts for all your videos!!
Sam is still hands down the best airline experience show on youtube. the others, all they really do is tell you how their flight went.
Love the cockpit views! I could only dream to fly first class on the A380! Wow!

Such an experience!!! It was incredible to see the landing and take-off view from the cockpit, had never seen this before. A380 is a forever love.
This is the best review/experience video so far coz of the extra features such as the camera in the cockpit. This is like you said, being immersed with the experience with you and not just watching a review. Fantastic. Well done Sam! 👏 🌟👌
Sam, you've truly taken us on an extraordinary journey through the skies with this Etihad A380 adventure! From grounded to grace, the resurgence of these A380s is a triumphant tale. Your firsthand experience of the First Class indulgence, the cockpit thrill, and even a shower at cruising altitude has left us all in awe. As the A380 soars once again, you've captured its majesty and luxury impeccably. Bravo to you and Etihad for showcasing aviation opulence like never before! 👏✈
I have not flown in first on Etihad's A380, but I have flown in business class on their A380. I loved it. Very comforable and quiet, with great Etihad service. Etihad is usually my airline of choice for flights between Asia and the UK.

@TheArizus

@@exjock4foodie Not "much much" better cuz they are all amazing but ye Qsuites are better but with Qatar since they have A380s, A350s, B777s and B787s for long haul, in the past at least the plane swaps meant that from time to time you could book expecting Qsuites and not get it. With emirates especially that is not an issue.

It's amazing to see the extent of professionalism from management, maintenance, the cockpit, to the crew take in their airline. Definitely an experience! Thank you for sharing.
The amount of access that you have to the cockpit are amazing and make your videos so special. You are truly a master of travel videos.
Spot on attitude about review videos. Your videos are another class Sam, living the experience. And the cockpit access, just amazing. 🛫
I'm so so happy about A380s revival across the aviation sector. Especially my favourite airlines. I have to admit, I have never been in Etihad Residence and was really disappointed when it was discontinued during COVID. Sigh, just happy it's all back and I now have a chance to travel in the residence 👍☺️ Thanks for sharing Sam, loved it!
Thank you for the wonderful insight from the cockpit! I remember watching on a live planespotting show this plane arriving into London with the flags out to celebrate which was so special to see!!
Love this video and the new way of doing things. It seems like when folks do travel reviews, they're all about pointing out what "they" thought was wrong with the experience. In this case, you are showcasing what's great about flying on whatever airline/equipment. Love that and the positive attitude that goes with those kinds of videos. Travel is never easy and certainly crossing timezones can be difficult. The fact is, safety and getting passengers from point A to point B is the job. Anything above and beyond, such as a great meal or cabin service is just a huge bonus, unless maybe if you have paid for a 1st Class long haul ticket.
The transition from flight reviews to flight experiences/adventures is a smart business move on your part. There are too many avgeeks doing them at this point. The only other components you could add are destination sightseeing, accommodations and ground transportation. Otherwise, you're on the right track, Sam.
Your videos make me happy. It’s like I am also travelling and flying with you and I just remember all the good memories when I travelled before.
Dear Sam, genuinely I liked your perspective on review. Certainly mere one flight experience can't make or break impression/image of the whole airlines! Kudos to your minute details. It is sheer delight to an aviation geek. Wishing you many more milestones achieved in your journeys. God Bless you

Excellent work Sam, your videos are so enjoyable and your gusto for air travel is contagious. Thank you for such great content. Saludos from Mexico
Thanks Sam and good idea you stop doing reviews. Each experience is unique and your value added is to share special experiences. Keep up the good work. I like the shower and the caviar as superb products on this flight.
Sam I want to tell you one big reason I love to watch your videos is because of the behind the scene look at what really goes on. Keep it up with you I can travel the world and fly in luxury from home. Thank you ❤

Sam, you are the King of aviation experience videos. Thanks a bunch.
Excellent video, so glad to see the A380 back. I'm currently in London and saw so many A380s at LHR last days, it's a blast! On a side note, there are sadly 4 airlines that retired the A380, as Hi Fly also retired it
Wow. The video is awesome. This crew is amazing. Thx for producing this experience.
This is a great video. Thanks for sharing. It's not always one sees this kind of content in aviation videos. Job well done. That first-class experience is definitely a must, not to mention the residence. This whole experience takes flying to another level

Thank you for the amazing videos. Highly appreciate it!
the camera inside the cockpit for take off is so cool Sam, thanks, great to see that.
I saw this land at LHR yesterday morning at around 7:30am. My son and I were in the Emirates lounge watching our incoming flight land and we noticed this not long after. He’s really into aviation and I was telling him how good Etihad are and how rare it was to see their A380 back in the air. Great to see! What’s not great to see is the few remaining EK A380’s sat collecting dust at DWC (we live right next to there). They’ve been sat outside in the burning 40c+ heat collecting dust for months. I wonder if they’ll be recommissioned or retired.
Amazing plane. Amazing cockpit´s views!
Nice one as always Sam. And also thank you for adressing your hater in such class, yes its true, cant fully review an airline based on one flight only. Keep giving us these experiences because we love them all. 😎😎👍🏾👍🏾✈✈❤❤
Hello Sam, is so cool to share this amazing video❤. Great news to see the A380 Etihad back on buisness. Etihad A380 is over the top 🥂🍾🙏🇫🇷
The cockpit cam was great. Enjoyed seeing the landing from the pilots viewpoint.
SPOT ON with going with the experience...it's what I look for in your posts.
Another amazing vlog! The footage in the cockpit was great. Very likable captain. If I had flight attendants in the U.S. who looked and acted like these A380 ones, I know it would be a dream.

Hi Sam. Always a pleasure to watch your vids! But pls. make Flight Reviews as well. Not only behind the scenes. Your Flight Reviews are the best on KZread!
You have an amazing journey seeing different places planes this is truly awesome Thanks for sharing always 🎉😊
Long live the A380, I did a comprehensive presentation on this bird in college when it was first introduced. I’ll never forgot seeing one land in Orlando. My favorite 🤩.
Thanks Sam, for this marvelous video of luxurious travel in the sky for those who can't afford it. An eye opener and a learning experience for us all.
Fantastic aeroplane. Really amazing Etihad Airways video. I surprised. Best wishes sir.
Merci ❤ super vidéo comme toujours ! Vous avez de la chances.
I had the chance to get a first class ticket through American Airlines points before COVID. The experience from Abu Dhabi was insane. From personal check in counter in a separate area in the airport, to escort through special security and on to the first class lounge, it was fantastic. I am not sure if it has changed, but from a haircut while in the lounge to ordering a custom meal from the chefs and the ultimate cigar, cognac and whiskey room within the lounge, it was one to remember. I do hope it is still as great. The flight was brilliant and definitely would fly again.
I flew in the apartment between Abu Dhabi and LHR in late January of 2020 right before world shut down. The plus side of Etihad is that the space you have in the apartment is amazing. The bed, however, was on the harder side. That’s solvable via two mattress toppers they apparently do now. The shower was fantastic although space felt a bit cramp compared to Emirates. The food, however, was def a notch above Emirates precovid. Looks like quality is still good.
Nice to see the 380 back in the sky! I love Etihad! Took it once and it was my best flight
Thank you for Go Pro peek in the cockpit. So so cool. Yes, this is not a review but certainly an experience!
Videos like this are the closest I'll ever get to flying. Thank you for sharing the experience! 👍

Finally. The Legend is back. (I’m talking about you) And also I’m so glad to see all flight attendants are no longer wearing masks here. Coz last July2023 I flew JAL (conmecting flights) from Jakarta to Narita and to San Fransisco they were still wearing masks.
Wow! LOVE the cockpit footage... prior to 911 - when I was learning to fly (restricted fixed wing), the hostess asked the pilots if I could have a look at the cockpit. Not only that, I was able to sit in the jump seat inbound into Melbourne. BEST flight ever... but the tech (now) is next level!! (pardon the pun) And the first class experience... manifesting that, as we speak!!!
Nobody does it better, Sam. Thanks for sharing
Sam. As a new subscriber I am just catching up with your new approach - the travel experience. Involving the people who make your experience is very good. Thank you. As a traveler from Auckland NZ to the UK and return 4 times a year (pre-covid) I have been an Emirates client. That may well change, with the option of the Residence coming back on line!
Just love A380, had the privilege to travel business class on Lufthansa couple of times to the U.S. Incredible experience and smoothest landings ever!❤

very nice plane and the seat wonderful, the food and shower
Great video and good to see A380 back in Etihad.I worked for both Air France and Etihad. For me la Première in Air France is a better product because of the quality of the food. I don't think the shower is important, as it takes 30min per passengers. So most of passengers have to take it 2 or 3hrd before landing. Most of the passengers prefers to have a shower in Abu Dhabi lounge
Im happy to see the A380 back. But I’m most impressed you succeed to get a 360-camera in cockpit.
