OH WAIT THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE... Okay I think Etho 100% built them. In watching Etho's video, I was slightly confused at the tone of the book Etho wrote to Joel- it wasn't mean, per se, but it served kind of as a shutdown of the current bit that they've been perpetuating: that they're obsessed with each other. If Etho actually assumed that Joel made the statues, the book seemed like it was kind of hinting "hey this bit is not going too far yet, because I'm showing this on video, but it's getting there". Which is possible! But considering how relatively minor building statues is compared to everything they've done, it seems very sudden and odd tonally. However if Etho built the statues? I can 100% see him sending that book at Joel. That is such an Etho thing to do. He's such a mischievous mf my god

Gem is so right about Joel being quick but also really lame. He's really good at balancing that, and it's the same with his awkwardness vs aggression lmao

I love how close the hermits basses have gotten remember back in season 5 when the hermits were obnoxiously far apart from each other

The best thing is, Etho may have built the statues initially but by doing that Etho managed to get joel to build statues of him at Etho's base

Scar did those, but idk if he would have been behind this. They were based off of the sewer cats mural from season seven which I'm pretty sure was Bdubs. Either way, Scar usually shows his work in his videos, so I guess we'll see in his next episode.
