It was paid by Chinese money. Then it is not the government but the strategic plan of the Chinese. And how much in dept is the Ethiopian state with another long distant rail line from the Chinese? Will it ever get paid back? Or assets taken if the state defaults? I remember that the state rejected European money to revive the old railway. And did a marvelous job to do what they did. Seems to be a change of mind has taken place. I am glad for the Ethiopian people to have such an asset. Future will show if you have made a contract with the devil and sold your soul.
The Editing is just epic, and the city skyline is dope.

Thank you for the video I learned a lot about the light rails in Ethiopia!! 👍🏿 I hope that one day a big rail road system is built in the whole African continent. Africa has the potential to show the world how to build a car independent and envrironment friendly transport system. It is especially important since Africa will be one of the first places where the climate change will cause serious trouble.

Great work African Tigress for showing us African cities and people on your KZread channel. I just discovered your channel in January 2022 and I like what I have seen. I hope your tigritude is affable and you don't bite. 😀👏 This wonderful Light Rail transport system in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia should have kick started in Lagos, Nigeria with the Blue Rail Line running from Okokomaiko in the Mainland of the City to CMS in Lagos Island. Its a shame that paucity of funds, the usual corruption bottlenecks and a wrong successor to the Governor that started it, has made the project uncompleted, 13 years after construction began.
For what Addis installed a tram line, beneficial to Addis residents, Kenya is building a Nairobi overhead road system meant for cars! We will always be behind Tz and Ethiopia for the coming years! Looks like
