Hello dear friends! Today’s oil painting was done on a circular wood panel and it’s called “蛾” which means moth in Chinese. For this piece I revisited some common themes in my work (moths/butterflies, space/galaxies, and ethereal goddesses), but I tried to use a more muted and neutral color palette as well as pay more attention to rendering correct anatomy and lighting. I kind of combined my old themes with the new knowledge and techniques I've learned from art school.
This piece will be part of an upcoming group exhibition at the Harman Projects Gallery in NYC (January 23 - February 4): www.harmanprojects.com/exhibi...
Hope you enjoy! 😁

This is lovely! I've missed you're original style, I admire you're decision to expand you're art skills, I've been enjoying you're realistic studies it's awesome to see how much you've grown as an artist, and it's wonderful to see you working in your original style I've always loved your style since stumbling upon your channel what must be two or three years ago now 🎨❤️✨

Even though you’re doing your “original style”, its obvious how much the schooling helped make it even richer, deeper, and more intricate

Wow, I have always loved your style. I thought studying realism would change it. But girl, you have taken lessons from realism and made something so eerily beautiful but not “realistic”. I am obsessed. 😢

Omg that is so sweet of you to say! My goal for art school was to be able to achieve exactly what you described in your comment so that really means a lot, thank you dear 🥹

I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and I love seeing how much your art has improved! This painting has so much depth to it with the different colors on the skin and rich shadows. The small scale makes it very intimate and delicate. Such a beautiful work!!!

I love 'monochromatic' paintings with colour highlights! Very nice done with the powdery and cool tones, that is a beautiful contrast. And I guess, you painted Kate Moss ^^

The realism and lighting here is incredible, good job on all your hard work 👍👍✨ I imagine this image to be depicting some sort of benevolent space nymph. The viewer is an astronaut on a space walk and they’ve lost control of the line, they think they’re going to die and their brain is flooded with stress - and they see this nymph, surrounded by butterflies, showing them how to breathe again. Once they calm down they can get back to their ship, mind clearer, and when they look back, the nymph is gone. Years later, the viewer will still never know if the ghostly appearance was real or made from their own panic and fear, but will forever be grateful.

Wow, I love this so much! Your use of pinks definitely still captured the cold (says me who doesn't like using pink!) And your anatomy is definitely looking way better! So whimsical! It reminds me of the nebulas and clusters from the Mass Effect videogames.

That looks so breathtaking and calming. I'm so curious how long does it take you to draw it. Bc on KZread, due to time-lapse, it seems like just one day, but I'm pretty sure due to media properties it should take longer
