I have listened to a lot of Chinese youtubers about thena, but none of them have said it so completely and accurately. I can easily do the same thing in bybit using the same method, but the return cannot be as high as sUSDe, because there is no yield when holding USDe, so sUSDe has such a high rate of return. This is really an interesting product

Super interesting and thanks for the deep dive and educational value of this info. There’s definitely some concerns about a “bank run” scenario when yields start to drop precipitously as the bull market turns to bear. The yields are enticing but gas fees are going to get INSANE this bull run. I’m definitely looking for a place to cycle profits taken and converted to stable coins on the way up and will keep this in mind, but it does seem risky. Aave USDT supply on Polygon is at 20% right now, seems safer? I didn’t have anything in UST but still a bit shell shocked that the Terra fiasco even happened. Cheers!

I think every bank run in crypto has ended badly. A depeg event here would not surprise me at all. Right now the cost of borrowing is insane hence why it’s very very easy to earn 20%+ on most money markets including AAVE

Great video. Retail being able to participate in the funding fee game makes this protocol very interesting. Guess I will join this for the long term if it doesn't blow up.

Firstly, Ethena can also suffer from the peg issue and it is centralized with the custodial they use to get deltas from CeFi

Probably not worth it because it’s on ETH mainnet, you need probably like 10k minimum to get the most of out this otherwise in this current market, gas will eat your profits away

Sorry I still don't get the yield, so when the market is hot, when you long and short Eth at the same time, you get the funding from the long position, then how are tou getting the fund? Because you "long" Eth at the same time. It's like the funding is transferred from your left hand to the right?

The ‘long’ position isn’t a perp position. It’s just a spot hold of stETH, so no funding paid. It’s then a 1x short to make the position delta neutral. 1 spot + 1 short perp -> delta neutral

Indeed! Im sure USDe will be on L2s in due time. The Ondo stables are interesting - again they're tradfi dependent (like sDAI and sFRAX).

They’ll be managing their risk quite closely so I think liquidation risk will be low here

Well its essentially a vault wrapped into a stable coin product, so yeah I know what you mean, but its still a stable.

@@WajahatMughal No, what I mean is that it's not designed to be stable. When the funding rate is going negative, this thing is gonna implode, and chews through the insurance fund real quick. The team doesn't call it a stablecoin anymore, they probably don't want to get sued later lol.
