It's been 2 years since I recorded a video at home! Got myself a new Howard baby grand to add to my piano collection and have been working hard at improving my technique. Hope you enjoy!
This improvised blues in F draws on inspiration from guys like Roosevelt Sykes, Walter Davis, Wesley Wallace, Curtis Jones, Henry Townsend and I'm sure many others.

I tend to think - especially with the pianists and era I’m drawing inspiration from - that blues and boogie-woogie are essentially the same thing.

@@EthanLeinwand thanks :) I’ve been looking at Nola pianists, Booker, Longhair, Mac Rebennack, Sweet Emma, players like that. The more I listen and play it, the more I can see their differences in style. Having a great time with it 🎹 🩵 and want to learn more! Thx

Has any name been put to the left-hand pattern of Junker's Blues and Fat Man? Also what does Gut-Bucket mean, even if they are not related?

Gut-bucket is a term usually used to describe horn players playing in an unsophisticated, down in the alley type style. My favorite!

John Cephas said gutbucket was basically low down, dirty, in the bottom blues. Louis Armstrong has a song by the name. They used to call a wash tub base a gut bucket, from the nickname for the bucket used to carry and clean chitterlings. Seen them, but passed.
