Ethan Bortnick’s Crazy Piano Song | Pianist Reacts
Музыка
In this video I react to the song Engravings by Ethan Bortnick. I hadn't heard of Ethan Bortnick before this video but I had unknowingly seen some of his TikTok videos. Ethan is a pianist and has had a lot of recognition as a great pianist as a child and now he writes his own music such as this song.

Hello there this young man Ethan Bortnick was a 12-year-old piano prodigy who also composes and sings. He has had over 4 national television concert specials. At 9 he was listed in the Guinness World Records for "The World's Youngest Solo Musician to Headline His Own Concert Tour. I remember watching him on TV when he was younger. But it was nice to cone across him again all these years later as a wonderful musical artist.

I loved watching a video he put out some time ago, where he wanted out of that lime-light to reinvent himself as an artist. He knew he basically had the world in his hands from a young age, but sought out to try and make his fame fresh, instead of relying on his prodigy status as a young child. It's quite amazing, and he's killing it.

@@matticawood I can’t seem to find other pianist opinion on his skill level, his body language and way of playing seems to give off the impression as if he is the greatest piano player on earth but I can’t definitively come to a conclusion on how good he is compared to world champion piano players. It seems like he is trying to kill the piano, in a way to finally rid him of the one thing that is consuming every aspect of his life so that he can finally escape and transcend reality.
God I love the smashing keys part, never thought a pianist would make a song I like so much
Thanks for reviewing this. One thing to note with his arpeggiating is that it is very staccato and certain keys, notes, chords are emphasized to give the piano playing more emotion. Such a powerfully emotional piece. So proud of Ethan. Glad he made his own unique sound since he was a prodigy pianist playing classical and other music. His bio story is great to listen to.

You pulled the word right out my mouth. His music is just so refreshing. Too much of todays music is just tryna fit in and fit the criteria and get top hits.
Thank you for doing this video. I am in no way a musician but something was eating at me when a lot of people would bash him saying he was faking the piano playing. Again something irritated me about that like I just knew he was actually playing. Watching you go over it and play the note yourself really drives home how there are many ways to produce music and layer it after the fact to produce something truly amazing... again thank you for showing him some support I love his music and have watched that music video probably over 100 times.

TikTok brought me to Ethan Bortnick’s, then Ethan Bortnick’s brought me here. I like how you allow the song to play out only really reacting when you have something to add. At 1:45, they're called Cluster Chords, and they do add dissonance. Carlo Gesualdo was a pioneer in popularizing musical tension, mostly with vocals. He showed the world that music can make you feel pain just as well, and some say his audience members were forever cursed to violence and misery. He and his mistress also framed his wife to avoid adultery charges, for which the wife was executed. It makes you wonder about what you hear on the radio nowadays. Pretty cool, huh?
So, these last couple of years, I've been kinda interested in the piano, and I was kinda wondering if any of you have known anyone to start late and or tips if it's common or uncommon where to start things like that.
