L'Etape du Tour de France is probably the biggest cycling amateur race in the world. It takes place every year on the route of one of the stages of Tour de France. It can be in the French Alps or in the Pyrenees.
L'Etape du Tour 2023 will be held on the 9'th of July. Etape du Tour 2023 route will be difficult as usual: starting in Annemasse and finishing after 152km in Morzine. 2 famous cycling climbs on the way: Col de la Ramaz & Col de Joux Plane.

In the video you can see some footage from Etape du Tour 2022. It started in Briancon and finished on Alpe d'Huez after 166 km and more than 4.500m of climbing. We've passed Col du Lautaret, Col du Galibier, Col de la Croix de Fer on the way to Alpe d'Huez.
I've finished 4 times L' Etape du Tour so far (2017, 2018, 2019, 2022) and each time It was hard as hell and prommissed myself not to come back. Guess what? I will register again for Etape du Tour 2023 ;-)
I think this is the best cycling race that an amateur cyclist can ever take part. The landscape in the French Alps, the atmosphere, the crowd support, the beautiful French villages and amazing food, roads closed for the entire route.... what else could you ask for, it's like beeing a PRO cyclist in the Tour de France.
