When I started learning Spanish, this was one mistake I used to make constantly as both verbs (SER & ESTAR) have the same meaning.
Today we'll focus on Estar which is a really important verb as it's used so often in Spanish. If you can understand when to use Estar then you can also quickly learn when you'd also use SER.
