Essential Forest School Knots

In this episode Alan introduces you to a few knots that may be helpful in a Forest School environment. The knots are as follows;

- The Alpine Butterfly Loop

    Your taut-line hitch is the rolling hitch version. Very well done. That is the version taught by Boy Scouts. I prefer the midshipman's hitch version for more friction.

    Farrimond Friction Hitch seems to be a lot stronger than the taught line hitch. I think it's easier to tie, it is quick release, but it needs a bit more care when tightening the nut. With a slightly slippery rope, the taught line hitch here seems to slide quite easily when pulled.
