Having purchased a large tract of land that was recently logged (before purchase) I can say that I greatly appreciate the advise on these tools! I've cut more wood in the last year than in the last 35 years. That is a LOT since I'm an avid back woodsman. Thank you for the video and even more of a thank you for your vocabulary that put a smile on my face!

Thanks chris. I am glad this helped. I just learn as I go, and as I learn more ways to make life easier I will post more. I have some good stuff coming so stay tuned!
At 3:23 using the pickaroon(?) reminds me - All tools are hammers. Except chisels. They’re screwdrivers.

🤣 love it!
Awesome videos :) I love cutting firewood but its always nice to see the different tools we all use, I do a lot of mine in winter so i dont have to worry about getting in the dirt, I built my own log lifter kinda like yours works awesome so you dont have to bend over as far when cutting :))
I agree making your own woodcutting tools is very satisfying and often better than factor made.
Great video and thank you for the collection of terrific tips.

Chris collamore Chris my friend don’t cut yourself short. The old saying goes even a blind squirrel finds a nut eventually and that just happens to be the category I am in!
Thanks for sharing. I'm going do a few of these tips for sure.

@@mr.mckenney2549 Iv been looking for something to lift logs I thought those hooks just rolled them over. I also love that bar vice but I have never seen one in stores going to have to track one down somewhere? Thanks

@Scott Nock Not very sure where to buy a vice I made mine off memory of a picture I saw once. You can try baileys online? The log jack is also a great investment if you are in the home firewood business.

They are a tight fit. The point will drive into the end and the shaft will be held in with one screw. It is a small task, hammer screwdriver and five minutes you will have it done.
Sir you could have 10k subs....get at it!!! Slider is my dream. Some guys buy A Harley, I want that skidder!!!!

Thanks will try, if the subs add up great. This project was started as a request by my high school students to teach them more than I could teach in the public school system. But I am curious to see where this might go some day.
One additional question please. Where did you get the 35 lb rare earth magnet for the measuring tool that you made?

Sorry to say this but it looks like your left elbow may be brushing up against poison ivy @7:00. It could also be Virginia Creeper - it is hard to tell from the video.

Genius stump vise ! Pickaroon , peavy, and pulphook indispensible. Measuring firewood, just a marked line on your saw. I don't want any metal sticking out while cutting. Try PFERD's CS-X 2in1 sharpener. NOW ! get you some PPE. The femoral artery cut will bleed you out in minutes. Helmet SYSTEM, if only for those %$#@# branches coming down. And, since we usually cut solo, if you're not a vet, get some basic emergency training ( sometimes called Wilderness Medicine). May save your ass. JMNSHO
