What injectors? What other fuel system modifications? Is this return style or stock system? Boost a pump?
That’s crazy gains for e85. I’ve always gotten around a 60-70whp gain on e85, if I run the same boost as 93.
@SpeedAddict731
Жыл бұрын
Definitely on the higher end of gain. Not sure how much the cams are assisting it also the 93 pulled some timing so that gave it a bigger gap as I talked about in the video.
Good gains there from the fuel. I'm curious how much power the cams added vs stock cams with this setup. Are these boost cams? The Gen3 cams are already pretty good, so I'm wondering if the HP/dollar is worth it. I think this is one of the few non NA Gen3 cars I've seen with cams on it.
@SpeedAddict731

Last car we had on the dyno with his setup with a cobra jet without the supercharger put down over 500rwhp N/A. This car actually has the n/a version of the comp stage 2 cams because he wasn’t planning on going with forced induction. We were curious how it would do but looking at the hp numbers it did pretty well. Usually wouldn’t see this hp with stock cams. I agree with you the stock cams do great with forced induction and I usually recommend staying with stock cams going with forced induction unless you are building a engine for big power. Even then I still like the stock cams.
With some cold side tweaking, do you think the ESS kit would fit an 11-14?
Nice video Wonder what numbers you would have got at 7700 on 93 with some boostane to fix the kr. That would have been even better comparison
@SpeedAddict731
Жыл бұрын
Could have but then you would have not had pump 93 vs pump E. Only thing I could think of is do pump 93 from the station that has the best I usually find and put it against pump E and let it do what it does. Problem is with boostane it would have added timing over what normal pump would do, so again wouldn’t truly be a real comparison between pump 93 and pump E. If I had to speculate it adding 1 deg of timing it would have been about 30 hp better. But that is speculation.
@thundercat9821

@@SpeedAddict731 Thanks for the reply Just seeing already in comments , people will expect 120 rwhp . going from good 93 with no kr at 7700 to e will not be 120 rwhp. Everyone running these ess is putting octane additive . Just my opinion as people might see this as misleading
@SpeedAddict731

@@thundercat9821 if they watch the video in full I explain that these numbers are from pump 93 to pump E with the 93 pulling about a degree of timing. So it’s not misleading if they watch the video and listen to it. That’s the main reason I just didn’t shoot the video at the dyno say what it made and left it alone. I set and explained everything. This is not a comparison of running 93 with boostane and I say that in the video. If we wouldn’t have pulled a degree it would have been a 6 degree difference between pump 93 and pump E instead of 7 degrees of timing. I was just sharing what we found since I have been asked this question a number of times.

@@thundercat9821 you will see a ton of power going to e85 over 93 on a boosted 12:1 car it's just common sense. Yea better quality 93 you may not see 120 hp delta but it's still gonna be 80-90+ easily.
That's incredible gains. But I gotta ask what the ignition timing on 93 and e85? Or how much was added for e85
@SpeedAddict731
Жыл бұрын
13 degrees of timing on 93 and 20 degrees on E85. I would have loved to see it on around 15 on 93 and the gap wouldn’t have been so big. But I wanted straight out of pump comparison for both 93 and E85. I could have put some boostane in the 93 and bumped the pump gas numbers up a tad but like I said in the video there is a lot of variables and I wanted results without throwing in more variables.
Awesome results I'm curious if there's much of a difference if it was turbocharged compared to supercharged doing the same kind of application

Any boosted car in this power range will always see alot more than that. 75-80 is usually bare minimum and gains can be higher on high compression engines like these which are 12:1 the gains really aren't surprising at all. Boost and high compression with e85 is like cheating.

@@nola504boy1 my twin turbo 2020 Mustang put down 708@8psi on 93 on a Dyno jet dyno. As I said in the video I take hp numbers from a dyno with a grain of salt. But they are good for tuning and comparison if using same dyno. I was showing comparison as we made two runs on the same dyno and compared the difference between the runs. I would love to see the trap speed on this setup. That data could tell me some things. This makes the second ESS kit on the dyno to kind of shock me with hp numbers. Usually I see comparable numbers from whipples, odins and such as I do from other dynos when I put like setups on this dyno. I know a 18 Mustang with a Vortech V3 JT on the same dyno on 93 but a 10R80 car put down 631rwhp tuned by Lund which customer thought would have been more. But that car was stock cams, stock headers and stock intake manifold. Also the V3 JT flows 1450 cfm and the ESS G3 flows 1600 CFM. This car has cams, ported intake manifold and longtubes with full exhaust so I haven’t ran this combo with other blowers yet with similar boost to compare. I have mixed feelings. I need to see this combo get run down the dragstrip to give me more info.

To be 100% honest we are not sure. I know what they are rated for but seeing the power numbers I’m thinking maybe higher. This blower flows 1600 cfm and that pulley should be around 10psi up top. The next car I do I’m installing boost guage to watch it.

It was on the dyno but after the dyno we installed aftermarket clutch in. We knew it wasn’t going to hold the power long term but we wanted you’re welcome be able to dyno it without it being on a brand new clutch so he could get the tuning done then be able to break the clutch in properly.
To be fair...what was the peak HP at 7120 RPM on E85 since you ended at 7120 RPM on 93? That is a fair comparison. 7120 rpm vs 7936 rpm nah brother, Centri's build way more power at higher RPM. Not an exact comparison. If you were to end t 7120 on E85, state the HP, then take it up further in RPMs and note the difference, that would be a better comparison. Good video nonetheless 🇺🇸
@SpeedAddict731
Жыл бұрын
Go back and watch the video. Look at peak rpm that the engine was ran to and then look at peak hp rpm. You will see that I actually revved higher on 93 run than I did on the e85 run. The factor being is that in the higher rpm the 93 couldn’t run as much timing to make the hp up top vs what the e85 did. So if anything I gave the 93 more of a chance to make more hp. Yes the peak hp rpm is different from 93 to e85 but both were revved pass their peak hp numbers. Peak hp rpm was 7120 but revved a tad pass 8 and on E85 peak hp rpm was 7569 revved to 7936.

So I decided to make the video after the fact. Had I made it while I was there I would have brought up mid range power difference and such. This was shell 93 and usually does well. I didn’t want to put any additive in and skew the numbers. Like I said in the video I tried to exclude as many variables as I could.
