I purchased an Esquif Rangeley 17, custom cover and Karavan trailer pkg on March 14, 2018 from a dealer in PA. I followed manufacturer's and dealer's recommendations on operations and specifications for this boat. After 2 yrs of weekend summer use, the hull's structural integrity in the transom area failed. Boat takes on excessive water when underway. On 12/15/20, I emailed and included pictures to both Esquif Admin and the dealer of the existing situation. I have yet to receive any response from the dealer or manufacturer. Upon review of Esquif's website there is a 3 yr warranty on products. I hope my experience will help future customer's in their decision on purchasing this boat.

wow that is really unfortunate to hear that. I am in the market for a Rangeley 15. Did you ever get any word from Esquif? Thanks!

Thank you for this review! The first thing I thought when I saw pictures of the back of those canoes was "Separate piece for the transom? What is that glued in?" I was thinking bout one of these but forget it. Especially at that price?

@@eddiekross2130 Eddie, the Esquif Rangeley is a very poorly constructed boat, I learned the hard way, it was a negative and costly experience! but I found high quality square stern canoes that are produced of abitibi &Co. of Ontario Canada. I purchased the Hudson Bay 21' (the Maine freighter) from Berry Davis past owner of Two Rivers of Maine. Good luck on your quest, Steven
