@@dramatyst5661 Maye has a pretty thick Carolina accent that you can tell he has worked to hide. Mac and Newton werent very good here. Brady, Bledsoe, Flutie all from the north or west. Grogan was from Texas not sure about his accent. Maye has a pretty thick one. I expect Maye to be here a while. Mac and Newton werent really it. Point being its like the patriots drafted a Manning. You are reading too much into what i said anyways. I just said it would be interesting. I didnt say hes the only southerner they ever drafted. If we are arguing semantics and who is being stupid which i wasnt. Its like saying cam newton is black. And you think im being racist for realizing hes black when thats not racist or me saying he is the only black qb to ever play here. Racism and stupid is something else. There was no hidden agenda there whatsoever. Assuming im being stupid is stupid. Probably why my other comment about mike greenberg is just as observant. Im not them or you or the people who do these things. Point completely lost if there was one. The world would a better place if people were stupid in other ways anyways vs this drivel.

Saying it's bad coaching is only half of it. Almost NONE of the rookie QBs should start right away. They should sit a minimum of one year, probably two. Statistics bear this out. The win now mentality is running these young players. Howell getting shipped of to Seattle was this same crap. They expected a rookie with a terrible line to throw nearly 50 passes a game and win his first year. He had talent and they refused to let it grow. Daniels or Maye... Doesn't matter if they do the same crap again.

"Far more QBs are ruined than developed in the NFL." This is so very true. The NFL is very much a win now league. Most of the greatest QBs all had time to develop and sat on the bench in their first few years. Rodgers, Steve Young, Brady, Brees, and Mahomes have all sat the bench before they got their chance. Manning started and was terrible his first year or two. It took him time to develop while playing. Hell, even Sam Darnold looked like a stud last season for the 49ers when he came in during the Ravens game.

And this is exactly why I’ve been a Drake Maye guy for the pats for months. I’ve been telling pats fans on Twitter that this is a multi yr rebuild. We have a first yr head coach and the krafts obviously know that. They’re not gonna rush Jerod. It wouldn’t make sense to so theres no need to rush the QB process. Let drake sit while we suck for one more until the last 6 games then let him get nfl exposure from there and give him something to work towards in the summer as far as understanding the game speed. Get another. Top 10 pick and trade that pick back to a sucker willing to draft one of them terrible QBs next yr. Get multiple first rounders in the future to continue to build your team with high end talent. Then you draft imo another WR or tackle it CB with that pick swap. And you go into the offseason with 250 million in cap space projected and fill the roster. Then let the kid go ball after learning. Unless he’s just balling out of control in training camp i wouldn’t rush him at all

With a half decent qb last year the Pats would have been right around .500. They absolutely need a qb and they have some other needs on offense. So I don’t know why they keep saying he has everything you want when height is definitely something he does not. I know, I know... but bro, that crow is better served cold as in left overs over the course of this whole entire year. So, I might add; 'WHOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO! 15 year Pats Dynasty! RISE OF THE SYTHE. Where there was a SYTHE LORD (Belichick) there is an apprentice. There is always one... and so, (Dramatic music) It begins.... again. There is a new disturbance in the force. I can sense a fear growing in Buffalo as their hope to become a legitimate faction in the senate fades as what they dread most seems to be returning. The rise of Drake... A Superbowl saga. Found in the outer regions a young man whom the force has seemed to have chosen to re-awaken the spirit of those who dwell in all of the New England planets. There is rumors growing that the SB Master himself (TB12) may offer some guidance to the youngling. We very well may be looking at the beginning of something even one day the Chiefs may dread. Time... will.. tell. For now, MAYE the Force be with us.' Fee free to use the 'MAYE' the Force be with us, (grant me credit of course, TM pending) ;)

If Bill was still around and we took maye, I'd be more concerned. Ever since drafting Nkeal harry things have been very off. I think Bill thought too high of himself and his personal and forgot how much leverage they had on offense with Brady. Bill could do many things at an elite level, but drafting and cultivating and keeping receiving talent was very, very suspect. We were good at gambling and using Brady as a marketing tool for high risk high reward free agents. But once he left, all the coaches were exposed. As frustrated as I was with the kid, I know Mac was screwed over. He had no WR talent, a turnstile oline, a dollar tree equivalent of an offensive coordinator, and had to follow Tom Brady's legacy. I told my friend if Bill keeps making the same mistakes he's going to make Brady look incredible, and lo and behold he did. But now there is no Bill and his nepotism and "rocket scientists". And although down the road the defense will stutter without the master behind the wheel, I think our offense will improve much faster than it would if Bill were around. Maye can play with inadequate talent, and our GM is making sure to get starting quality guys and has a track record to prove he can do it. No more fatricias and clearance bin talent.

Drake Maye needs either Giants Hc or Minnesota HC for development n i think he could be really good!! People just look at his past year and forget what he did his first year!! He just needs some time but what do i know? I'm no analyst but look what Daboll did with Allen n he wasn't as good coming out.

The pencil pushers today also prefer the best athlete at qb which Maye isn't. Strange since most of the great athletic qbs in college suck in the nfl. To succeed in the nfl you need to be smart and a great passer. If the qb needs to run to be successful then you are in big trouble.

Tell me. How does the NFL's new savior not beat his interstate rival ever? His team never beat NC State. How does his team go 0-4 in 22 and 2-5 in 23 down the stretch when their season is on the line? Sam Howell took that team to an 8-5 record. And so did Drake Maye. How is it that a superstar can't do better than a 5th round pick with the same team?

Somebody knows nothing about scouting, he sucked because his top receivers left, coach changed, & offensive coordinator (who sucks) changed, you CANNOT scout a player based on anything but mechanics & processing…literally that’s what’s scouted, not stats, not “did the team win” but actual mechanics of a QB He’s not even remotely close in any way to Zach Wilson, best comp is Justin Herbert/Josh Allen compared to college film, a little similar to Aaron Rodgers or Carson Palmer on a larger scale

The Patriots don’t need a quarterback this year because the team doesn’t have the depth to help any qb succeed. They will likely ruin whoever they draft if they do. On Drake Maye, his supporters all sound exactly the same, which scares me. They are all fanboys that basically have their minds made up because he looks the part and just know he’s going to be great. If the Patriots take Maye I feel kinda bad for him because it seems like a terrible place to be mentored into a starting role. I hope I’m wrong but there’s a lot of ominous bust signs if he’s a Patriot.
