Terrible footwork but THE BEST QB in the draft

Unfortunately a lot of the old head Patriot fans are curmudgeons who think we can duplicate Tom Brady and find All-Pros on day 3 of the draft, or we can have success with any QB as long as we give him MHJ to throw to and Joe Alt protecting his blundside when in reality those type of QBs ala Tua, Dak, Kirk, Rivers, Romo etc have to have everything go perfect and still they lose early in the playoffs and if the situation is just "good" and not great, they can still miss the playoffs entirely. We got a Josh Allen/Prime Big Ben level talent and a lot of the older Pats fans are already out on him because Jarod Mayo made 1 simple comment after his first practice lol. Kids got all these exceptional traits and intangibles, but he's apparently a bust because he doesn't have Tom Brady's pocket feet/presence at the age of 21...

It just doesn’t make sense for a team like the Redskins to draft another UNC quarterback Sam Howell is as good or better than Maye

Drake Maye is 2-5 in his last 7 games (1-5 against Division 1 teams). UNC had only ONE road win in the 2023 season. In his most recent game against NC State, he was absolutely horrible, losing a fumble and throwing a key interception when it appeared UNC might have a chance to get back in the game. He was totally outplayed at HOME by a 3rd string freshman QB from last place UVA. Belichick is not impressed with him at all. Will he beat out NC State alum Jacoby Brissett for the starting job - not a chance. Fitting since he made complete asshole comments about NC State, whose engineering graduates make 3 times the money versus UNC art history major grads. He is just Sam Howell 2.0, who was 4-11 with the Commanders.

His team stinks, his line stunk and out of the six quarterbacks drafted in the first round he had the LEAST to work with as a quarterback. He was his team. Meanwhile Jayden Daniels is throwing two 2 first round talent receivers and a line that gave him all day to throw. McCarthy sitted behind an offensive line that saved Michigans laundry department a fortune, his jersey never got a grass stain on it. Penix’s line was a wall, while throwing to two outstanding receivers. Bo Nix has 5 damn years of college experience (and we’re hearing he’s the most NFL ready?), gee do you think? No one has a better arm in this draft than Maye. He’s almost 6’5” and he can run. Half these quarterbacks will fail, at least the Patriots drafted one that has all the tools to work with. If he improves even by 10% he’s a ten year starter in the NFL.

Bill is not coaching in the NfL anymore because he hasn’t exactly been right the last five years selecting players himself, either. We had the number 3 pick in the draft because of the last quarterback Bill Belichick drafted (Mac Jones). What did Bill’s scouting analysis on Mac Jones look like? Bottom line, Drake Maye is one of the most talented quarterbacks to come out in ten years…he plays the most important position in sports…and we needed a quarterback. What did you think they were going to do?

@TwentyTimes 6, 47 and 2025 3rd for the 4th, 4th and 2024 2nd for the 3rd. It works because everyone (except Minnesota) gets what they want. Giants get Maye, Pats get McCarthy and 2nd rounder, Arizona gets MHJ or Nabers and a 2nd and 3rd.
