That bundling of Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ that was announced combined with the launch of Apple TV in the same quarter is going to lead to a significant dent in US cable and sports package subscriptions which in turn will lower ESPN’s carriage revenue while the streaming bundle revenue will be recorded on Walt Disney Corporation’s balance sheet not the ESPN subsidiary’s. Just look how fast Disney gutted 20th Century Fox with massive layoffs after the acquistion was approved by the US Justice Department.
