    Thank you for pointing that out about the warm ups. They don't alway have to be a song. I am teaching in Zhongshan ( which I love). The school that I am at has it's own curriculum that the students are evaluated on each semester. It provides a plan and everything an some material. But it is so, so, so boring and it loses my kids interest unless I change it up. (which I like to do). But for a while when I first started last year, when it came to warm ups, my school would say to open with a song or finger games. For my younger children, 2-3 year olds that is okay. But for my 4- 6 year olds ,of course they get bored very quickly. I will try this with my older students.

    Hi, thanks for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm glad the games have been working well in your class 😊 I usually keep everyone engaged by having them chant the target question before the student participating plays the game and reveals a flashcard. I give points to the team using the best English. I also teach additional language such as "what's the score?" "who is winning?" etc and have the whole class ask together. This keeps everyone engaged and helps the game move a bit faster. I hope that helps 😊

    hi, any ideas for summer camp activities?

  • @MooncakeEnglish

    @MooncakeEnglish

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi, thanks for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! It depends on how your summer camp is structured but I would take a subject and break it down into different sections. For example, you could choose the subject of sports and teach vocabulary and sentence structures of different sports each day. Structure the class/day so that you have an ESL portion where you teach the key vocabulary and sentences and then a section where you actually play the sports and use the language in context. You could then also link in some phonics activities using the same theme. I hope that helps to inspire some ideas!
