QOL tips: -Right-clicking items can tell you if the item can be attached to a belt or your back. -putting your keys on the key-ring can unclutter your inventory. You don’t need to pull them out to use them either. -you can only access or put stuff into containers if they’re held in hand, worn, or left on the ground. So you were just plopping first aid supplies in your inventory. Similarly, putting the gun case you found on the ground or holding it in hand would let you access the contents.
Remember, the apocalypse means escaping prison isn't illegal!
The holster adds another belt slot for pistols when worn. If you right click on those belt slots, it will show you what you can put in there. Anything in those slots will get a nice weight reduction too. Another thing. If you hold V near a vehicle you’ll get a helpful context menu where you can siphon gasoline and look at vehicle mechanics. You get extra options if you do this inside the vehicle.
Shift+W activates cruise control. Once activated, pressing it again increases the speed by increments of 5, pressing Shift+S lowers the speed by increments of 5 and pressing S deactivates it. You can also press W to speed up while cruise control is activated without deactivating it, allowing you to focus more on acceleration and control without the hassle of micromanaging the two at the same time.
Abandoned Soldier and Final Flight are rife for dramatic opportunities. My vote's for them.
Awesome episode! BTW, you can turn on a setting called "Pan Camera While Driving" that will make driving a little bit safer! It lets you see farther than what the default cam will allow you to see while moving in a car.
I've seen a few people do the Abandoned Soldier run, and it's a lot of fun with high action at the beginning - and if you succeed, you're geared up to do more ambitious plans, like trying to get into a military base or checkpoint so you can "contact" your squad or command, and get "extracted" as a win condition. Fire Sale also sounds like it'd be really fun to see with your playstyle; lots of items but everything slowly being consumed, dodging and weaving the zeds and trying to find a place safe enough to rest.
Just FYI the cardinal directions are little wonky in this, North is the Top right corner of your screen, South is the Bottom Left. There is a button on the map to switch it from Isometric to proper orientation if you prefer it that way!

this AND the new Rimworld series, man this is great!
I liked the prison challenge. If it was in a boat ou island even better. But I think once you leave, especially in a car, it's done, challenge completed. Unless you give yourself a back story.. For example.. You are a sadistic warden or inmate and you want to kill everyone in the prison because you hate them, you can even leave, get supplies and go back to finish them off.. From the lost you showed, maybe hospital, but again, with a goal, for example, pick a random house far away from the hospital to be your "house" and since you woke up in the hospital, your objective is to leave, go home and see if your "family" is still there, maybe clear the house and protect it as a goal. But there are other scenarios, I admire those like know county, shopping mall.. But those are a lot of killing zombies.. Maybe you prefer the difficult ones like extreme weather (some like winter, others with toxic rain, where you have to wear and switch masks a lot). Others are different like: I am legend (zombies are sprinters at night and you need to find a cure by testing zombies and building a laboratory) I also like hive mind, all zombies in the area will know where you are if one of them sees you. Anyway. The important thing is for you to have fun, I still prefer your CDDA content but like PZ. If you want to experiment with survivals, I also like: the long dark, vintage story and I am waiting for dwarf fortress adventure mode to be a little better.. I admire the detailed battles but I would prefer more auto like CDDA. It would be fun to randomly see the log where my character used one goblin to beat another one. Keep up man.
I vote for fire sale and abandoned soldier.
The case in the back of the car at the camp probably had things in it, ammo or weapons - it's a container like a medical kit that needs to be dropped on the ground to see its contents - there are mods that fix it, like ExtraSauce Sac, which is what I use.
Love the videos and am keen to watching more, be it Cataclysm or other games like zomboid! But just to save you time going through your inventory for weapons, if you drag your weapons down to the bars at the bottom of the screen, you can equip those easily with the number keys. 1 slot is for big items like shovels, the rest are for smaller things like hammers. You do need a belt to use the smaller item access slots though. Thats where your holster is as well! Hopefully this helps make getting weapons ready a breeze for you!
Existential dread? Poor guy drove out of Knox County and right into real-world 2024.
Drove out of project zomboid and into CDDA there at the end lol. Keep up the great content.
PZ is an extremely powerful tool for storytelling, much like Rimworld is in a way. I'm super excited for more of these videos and perhaps some old beloved characters could find themselves in Knox County at some point?
Achievement unlocked: "The edge of the simulation". lol Congrats.
nice episode, just found it weird that your guys legs disappeared at 19:27

Hmm yes just be a known bug 😂
I almost always take Sunday Driver.

Same, speed is a great sewerslide tactic in the apocalypse!

@Loriethalion Driving speed never helps. Driving speed is basically useless. In fact it has killed me more than once. Sunday Driver gives you 1 or 2 points (I forget) to spend on useful traits. Slow and steady wins the race.
Thank you
The Mall challenge sounds fantastic. I'd assume it's a Dead Rising reference? Either way I'm excited to see the series continue. While I'm here, did you have any trouble getting the big moodlets mod to work? It's driving me nuts

No, nothing special. I wonder if there is some kind of conflict going on for you there

@@ryconplays Welp, back to the drawing board. Thanks for the awesome episode as per usual!
Just as a heads up for future runs, unfortunately the First Aid Kit and such don't work like you think with how you were using it in this episode. Containers only work as a container you can access if it's icon is on the right (where the keys and box icons are). These are all containers you are currently wearing or wielding. To use a First Aid Kit in PZ you'd have to either have it equipped (if you even can with FAKs) or drop it on the ground to then put items inside or take them out.
