Egor Kostromin because I (we) follow the reaction structure which says: 2015 - from -x till x. So Belgium is on the way for sure, even if it takes some time.

Maybe the DNS stood for “definitely not suitable (for a family show)”

Me and my flatmate were really disappointed this didn't qualify, after watching the music video we had a huge crush on him! It was super catchy and personally I think it was perfect for Eurovision, as a lot of entries are just fun, catchy, not taking themselves too serious pop (just look at Sweden 2011). But perhaps the pornstar-esque police vibe was a bit much for some people 😂

The music video was him in a police chase, I think that's why they were on stage too; keeping up with the theme. It's a bit of trashy song and performance, but I admit it was one hell of an opener to that semi-final.

Eduard is actually Ukranian but entered the Moldovan selection and won. This song came in 11th in the SF so just missed out. In terms of what you're thinking its probably Spice Girls' Wannabe "What I want, what I want, what I really really want" chorus, combined with George Michael's Outside video.

I think Moldova is best when they send songs that has some humor to them. Their debut in 2005 included a drumming grandmother.

Haha yeah he nearly qualified he was just a few points away from making the top 10, staging can raise an eyebrow but I like the song.

Moldova has some amazing entriessss! I'm spamming this a lot, but when you get the time from all these great 2015 reactions, please check Moldova 2012 (and 2009!), I know that you'll love them. To explain the song - you need to find the "official video" for this song. In the official video is a story that's stereotypical of the gang scene in Los Angeles. A guy is being arrested next to a fancy sports car, underneath a highway overpass, and it's very Los Angeles feel. All of a sudden the guys eyes lock with a female police officer, and suddenly the officer is shooting her fellow officers so the two of them can ride off together in a wild police chase. Only to end with him waking up in the back of a police car from a daze. Or something like that -- it's been 3 yrs since I last saw it.

btw, ''epic sax guy'' wasnt just with sunstroke project in 2017, his original appearance that became a meme was always with sunstroke as well!

He beat Sunstroke Project in the national final because he bought the jury and even told the other artists he did. He’s Ukrainian by the way, the only year Ukraine didn’t show up.

Moldova have a tradition of sending trashy songs and performances to Eurovision (I can only think of Aliona Moon - O mie in 2013 that didn't fit into the trash category). Mostly it's fun trash and sometimes it's just trashy trash.

The fact about this guy is that he is from Ukraine. He wasn't selected there, so he decided to participate in Moldovan selection and was selected. This could be the answer to your question about diferencies compared with other Moldovan artists/songs

My guilty pleasure of 2015. I'm pretty sure Moldova doesn't aim to win, they're just there to have fun. If you want to be REALLY confused by Moldova, check out their 2011 entry, "So Lucky". That one is weird, even for my taste. I would be careful about the new intro music, btw. Even if you don't monetize, you might get a copyright strike.

Very dated with a slightly unsuitable performance is basically summing up this entry. Can't wait until you get to Serbias entry from 2015 probably my favourite from that year (I know I'm a traitor to Sweden I haven't really agreed with our choices of acts since Loreen in 2012 lol)

But we love Ed here in Ukraine, can't watch his performance without smile :) that year Russia invaded Ukraine and we haven't participated. We sent Ed to represent Moldova instead.
