Sorry to hear it Don. Such an easy thing to do. I now use different colour heat shrink around the ends of my power cables to make it easier to identify. Red is for 12 volts. Solves the problem of checking each time. Testar have always been excellent in my opinion. They rushed me a camera express post just before I needed it for an overseas trip and it literally arrived within 48 hours so I was happy.

Thanks' Wolfie, Yes I find Testar to be great to deal with also. They just seem to have stock when others don't. I hope to be up and running again soon. I just had my brother up for the weekend and was showing some of your videos to him. We had a great laugh! Keep them up. Cheers Don

Hi Don, sorry to hear that you blew the board on the Esatto without actually using it. I have the same set up, keep in mind that once you get the Esatto fixed you should remove the EAF as there's no point in having two electronic focusers plus you may confuse the comm ports. My advice remove the EAF and put back that Celestron focus knob then you have the USB port that you were short. Happy birthday btw

Hi Simon, thanks for the sympathy Lol. Yes you are probably right about the EAF. I will leave it once my back focus is set correct and leave it unplugged. I require it when switching to my Hyperstar, so have decided to keep it in place. Take care CS

@@donstronomy7606 Ah, didn't realize you had an Hyperstar. The Esatto is great and very precise, you'll love it.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that has happened. It's all to easy to make such a mistake I think. Did something similar with my Pegasus Astro powerbox Advance when I plugged the 12v input power into the Adjustable Output port and was alerted by a burning smell 😱. Fortunately the rest of the powerbox all works so I only lost the Adj output which I'm not using anyway. Hope you get the Esatto working again - I find it works really well for my SCT.

Yes not my first time and probably not my last. At least now I cant repeat that mistake as my new hub is hardwired and 12 Volts. CS Don

I'm sorry to hear of your voltage overload. I'm interested in they Esatto 2 for my Celestron 14" Edge HD. Would you recommend the Esatto 2.

Hi Craig, from my brief experience with this focuser so far. It has exceeded my expectations. I previously used the zwo EAF. A good focuser but not for SCT. Just make sure you purchase a rotator. If you can afford it, the primalucelab rotators are a perfect match. I just use a cheap $100 rotator which does the job. 👍

It kind of annoys me that those 5v/12v plugs are all the same, when it would've been easy for manufacturers to settle on a standard for each. There are already 2.1mm pin and 2.5mm pin versions of the same plug/socket, they could've just picked the 2.1mm pin version for 12v and the 2.5mm for 5v. Then you wouldn't be able to plug the 12v into the 5v because the pin wouldn't fit in the hole. Instead they just randomly pick 2.1 or 2.5 so nothing ever plugs into the thing you wanted to plug it into... lol

It's great that you've got an observatory in which to hide your furtive purchases from your wife. I need to get one, although this may be "problematic"...
