I love this song, but I hate its truth. It's difficult releasing a love that still burns hot within you, but is unrequited from the person you indeed love. I fell in love with this song from this performance at age 17, and at 35 I understand more than ever. You can't help but dance through the tears, as she sings my heart to all the women I've ever loved.

Damn thats crazy. I’m 35 and also fell in love with this song from this performance somewhere in my late teens/early 20s. Being able to pass through the pain of lost relationships and not chase unavailable people is not for the faint of heart, i’ve struggled with it my whole life. This is one of those songs that people will aways relate to, Badu is on another level. Peace ✌🏼
