Looking at ERT Eidiseis's revival from its temporary closure due to the economic crisis in Greece 11 years ago, it's wonderful to see the news program's intro still honour the same intro music from the 1980s created by Greece's legendary music composer Vangelis.

There should be an anthem for the legendary coffee brand: La Akounaise

Nice. The legendary music started from 1982. Yeah you also mentioned Nerit. Their intro looks great, even though it's inspired, like VTM inspired for example. Ah yes Akouna.

Also to notice, that other major greek stations (MEGA, ANT1 and, since my birth year, 2005, Alpha) also have long running themes on newscasts. Lastly, in my school, I heard famous greek dance, the Greek Zorba. And your channel's theme is based on one of newscast's of our country's one of neighbours, the LRT Panorama from 1992-94 and, later, 1997-99. Do the TVP1 Wiadomości, please. Note, that the polish newscast was launched in 1956, as Wiadomości Dnia, it was renamed twice, with first time to Dziennik Telewizyjny in 1958 and with second time to current name in 1989.

In Fact, News Opening Music Was First Used On ET1 In 1982, But They Stopped In 1993, And Later Returned One Year Later. That Music Was Ended On ET1 As Their Format Switched To Different Format In 1997, But That News Intro Music Moved To NET As An Result. However They Returned To ET1, But Also Added On ET3 In 2008. As Of Now, ERT's News Intro From 1982 Was Never Changed And Still Using Today.

The newscast was renamed to ERT News (name both in greek and english), after lunch of news channel under the same name!

The famous intro music switched from ET1(ERT1) to NET(ERT2) in 1990. In 2008, its doesn't matter which channel (ET1, NET or ET3) you had picked, you get the same music whenever the news starts. ET3 does have a bit shorter version of the intro, and the music is even shorter. Even today ERT3, is still shorter than ERT1 or ERT2.

the 2020 intro in my opinion looks really good, now it's replaced due to the rebranding but still looks too minimalistic in my opinion, but the new channel logo looks good though (EDIT: ERT unveiled the new logo in Sept 2020, I misunderstood it a bit, the previous Eidiseis intro is for the rebranding in 2020)

basically in 2013, the greek goverment at that time decided to axe (shutdown) ERT to cut cost during greek's economic crisis, then the new station (DT, Greek Public Television) officially goes on air on August 2013 though there's already experimental broadcast since July, it continues for around two years until June 11, 2015, when ERT came back after the new prime minister allowed them to, and that day also marks 2nd anniversary of ERT's shutdown
