Ernie Ball Presents | SLASH in "UNSPOKEN EXPRESSION"

Музыка

"The guitar is basically a vehicle to be able to express feelings of anxiety, feelings of anger, feelings of passion, feelings of love, feelings of excitement, feelings of violence, feelings of sex...all of these kinds of emotions are, for me, very well expressed through the guitar".
Filmed inside his private studio, watch as SLASH shares the moments that shaped him from his dad’s love of British rock ’n roll to his passion for horror films and his first blues lick.
"Living the Dream" by SLASH ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators is available now. Order here: ernieb.al/SlashPreOrder
SLASH has proudly played Ernie Ball Slinky strings since 1988.

Not only is Slash an amazing guitarist and song writer, he's also a really cool person. I met him after a small gig in 1997, when I was 16 years old. He couldn't have been more nice to a young fan. I told him his guitar playing was an inspiration for my own guitar playing, and I even gave him my band's demo tape at the time. hahaha! His response "cool, I'll check it out on the bus". Doesn't matter what he did with it. He could have tossed it for all I cared, but in that moment, he took the time to make a young musician feel seen and heard. It was awesome to realize just how down to earth and humble this guy was... and obviously that's something he's kept throughout his entire career. And he's still an inspiration all these years later!

11 years ago I found Slash's address on some website and sent him a letter describing how his playing makes me feel and that I love playing the guitar myself. I also included two photos of Slash and asked him to sign it. I still lived in Poland back then. Two months later, on the day of my final exams my dad said "there's some post for you, kid...it's from the US, it seems." I rushed to the mail box and indeed, inside I found both photos with "To Adam, R ' Fn' Rl SLASH 2k8" on them. There's no better gift a young guitar player could get before the exams. I met Slash in a Hotel in Paris in 2014, he was the coolest guy ever to the young and freaked out fan I was. He asked me my name, looked me straight in the eyes and told me he appreciated a lot what I said to him. Coolest minute of my life.

Slash is the man- one of the only rock N’ roll legends that never aged, despite all of the drugs, booze and touring the world over the decades. Lol, he literally looks the same as he did in the 80’s/90’s! Just makes me wish Ozzy could’ve had this same luck that Slash has with his youth and health.

You know, back in the 80s I played a Les Paul...all of my guitarist friends used to play Jackson or Kramer or whatever was the hot shit at the time and they would always be on my case saying shit like " oh dude, how can you play those? They're so heavy and old!!" A couple of years later out comes Slash playing a ....THAT'S RIGHT!! A LES FUCKING PAUL!!! all of a sudden all those assholes were trading in their pointy guitars for them...guess who was laughing then??...

Saw Slash on my 20th birthday at the Hammersmith Odeon. I was front row but had a broken hand which he noticed throughout the night as it was basically always in the air. After Anastasia finished he made sure I got a pick from him, a drum stick from Brent and a high five from Myles. A small action like that that I'll never forget and made it the best birthday ever because he's such a nice guy

That last solo was super technical, its only that it was so filled with nuance and guts that you dont notice how clean and well played it is. Slash is a technical player in that he plays his style as perfect as its possible, its only thst his style has no use for sweeps, picking runs and all of that pyro. Slash is an amazing player, that has produced some of the best solos in rock guitar, from the raunchy nigthtrain solos to the bliztering sweet child of mine solo and the amazing climax at the end of november rain.... this guy is a phenomenon of feel

Killer classic Marshall tones in an all tube combo with an actual Celestion V30 12" speaker. Even at 5 watts, it will rattle your windows at home!. Love mine!

You just get that killer Marshall/JCM800/ Silver Jubilee tone you hear on all the 80s record, of course it's not as big and round as a saturated JCM though 4x12 but whatever, for house context and rehearsal it doesn't get much better than this amp
