Ernest Ranglin & The High Notes, live @ Helden in het Park, Eeklo (Belgium). The best version I ever heard of this song! Legendary concert.

The world's greatest guitarist. I asked a Jamaican woman several years ago if she knew of him. She said "Everyone in Jamaica know Ernie Ranglin".
@HowlingWolfgang14 жыл бұрын
that was great. I like the way he pulled it back together after the accidental with smooth scale transition and mix up. After a period of time of playing you could play any note. Experienced musicians will understand this. The scales themselves interconnect at intervals in the scale interlocking all 12 keys. marvelous performance and sound ambiance build

At well over 70 yrs old this guy is playing faster & smoother than any young metalhead. I recall seeing Ernest first play in London in 1965. He was inspirational to me...so fluent and always has a superb tone. That looks like an ES-339 he's playing(?)

I love Ernest Ranglin and this song in particular. But I didn't like this live version. His guitar playing sound clumsy and stiff when it's so smooth on the album. Doesn't change my opinion on the man but I wish I could find a good live version of this song.
