My youngest son, who passed away four years ago, loved this music. When I played it for him he would immediately say " Look Mummy - I dancing" It makes me cry every time I hear it to think of that lovely little boy.

Wonderful thought...how about we become the spirit things we love, like the sound of music, a string of notes, or we are the love of our pets, and we change places with dog thoughts, and human thoughts happen in the memory of a nuzzle, a tongue lick, smiles are in wags, and hands the memory of paws, and meeting hands sees what used to be touch, surrounded by warm pants of rhythmic breathing, and after longing and desire, there's....eternally throwing the ball until we dream of sleep.

The most relaxing tune I have ever heard in my life

I work on a gas station at night. The radio plays only classical in my shift and its amazing to see how many people react positive to this. After concerts many metalheads including the bands drop by as well and they really enjoy it as well.

I'm trying to sleep now. Today, my dog was diagnosed with bone cancer. I am 18 years old and he is 15 years old and needs to amputate his paw and undergo chemotherapy. But at that age he can't take it ... So he'll probably be sacrificed. I'm crying so much ... He was always my company. And now you're going to move on to another plane. This song calms me down a little and helps me in this sad moment. I hope you don't go through the same pain that I feel now. Animals are angels and should not suffer. Edit: well, my dog passed way at april 19. He had been cured of anemia and widespread infection. However, when he was about to start cancer treatment, he died at home. His breathing was slowing, his heartbeat was getting weak. I tried to do cardiac massage, but it was inevitable. Now he is on another plane. And I miss you so much. It has been my company since I was a child. Rest in peace, my friend. I will aways love you.

Satie must be one of the most underrated composers. When i write poems this is my major influx of inspiration. And its both beutuful and give hopes for us other outsiders. He was a genius far before his time sadly. I am now 62 years and have listen to this for decades..want to have it on my funeral.

Love that you disclosed having a first love. I am beginning to feel as though loving someone is a gift to them and to oneself that arises and dissipates and the real love we learn is that of giving and receiving freely the collateral damages of secondary or no importance. The love is the biggest part and transcends the inconvenience.

This music is very comforting to me. It reminds me of sitting at the beach watching a the sky meet the sun.

I heard this music for the first time back in 2012. This was the ringtone of our office phone. Our office becomes silent and almost empty after 6PM, and very few staff stays back till 9PM . I was among the 9 PM leavers. In the dead office silence, this music used to be the silent distant background score. For many years I took some effort to find this music, but failed. In 2019, KZread recommended this music and I clicked without knowing what was in store. 😊 Till day I am overjoyed to have found this music. 😊

That chair was a comfortable to sit on.With a music, I feel like be in Paris.

I heard this about a week ago on an older historical documentary on TV. I had no idea the name of the work or its composer and thought I will never know. I got in my truck after having been at the gym and this was playing on my classical station WOSU 101 FM. I almost cried. When the announcer gave the name I couldn't make it out very well but I did catch his last name. I called the station and they provided me with the information. Unreal that would happen like that, god was at work here no mistake about it.

I experienced exactly the same with "Badinerie" master flute piece from Bach. As a child I woke up every day with Badinerie played at the beginning of German courses on the radio. So frustrated not to know the name of this marvel for decades. Until, at last one day while driving, a classical music programme on the radio played this and gave its name. The next day I was listening to it at home after having bought a CD.

Same here. I used to try humming it to people I thought might know. I'd hear it in a movie or something but not remember what show later. Finally a couple of years ago it was in a commercial and I ran and looked it up straight away. Thanks, Google and KZread.

I play it every evening. It calms me down after a day of work. I even play it when i sit on a bench in the park (nearby my house). I calm down soo much that it helps me to fall asleep.

Brings me to a calming peace, the deep serenity of isolation that soothing to my thoughts.

Came across this melody on Instagram and was completely taken aback. It's so peaceful and calming. I absolutely love it.

My mom's best friend pulled me aside to hear this when I was a teenager. I'll never forget that moment. She said with a tear forming in her eye, "Isn't it beautiful!".

I've finally found it.. after months of searching since my tios funeral. This song brings me sadness while calmness. It reminds me of him and those 2 days. I miss him so much. I put in a few benches for the old folks that love the place and can't walk far . The have earned a place to sit and enjoy watching life go bye before they go . Empty benches just reminds me of them

I first heard this on the Microsoft music player back in middle school. I fell in love with how relaxing and calming it was. I could never find it until now.

all 3 of them are so beautiful and calm and make me feel at peace, but number one makes me feel so many emotions rush through me, not happy or sad but at peace with the universe

I understand the empty bench. My soul cries for the longing of friendships long dead. The empty bench stings longing for things and people I left behind . The haunting memories of friendships dead but we both still live. A hope rings in the chords of memory that those memories live and can be reconstituted. Another miralce that makes perfect sense.

As an amateur photographer I was always fascinated by public benchs. Now alas I have been badly effected by depression and I have been looking for some sort of peace of mind and this is the most powerful and beautiful piece I came across. It brought tears but not sad tears and lit a spark that may inspire me to create something with my own photos, and dare I wish go and take more.

I will play this on loop for Molly my dig, to help her with separation anxiety. She is young in body, but a very old soul. Listening to Sate , and everything else we are doing now, is her service dog education and training.

Elle est la tristesse, la joie, le doute, la beauté, la simplicité... La mélancolie est un état que j'aime, comme la musique de cet immense compositeur qui me bouleverse... Quand on écoute Erik Satie, le temps s'arrête... Merci pour ne pas avoir coupé par la publicité qui viendrait gâcher l'émotion si palpable.
