Being a TSK dealer/user I can agree with you on the dangers of having all that adjustability. I´ve seen it again and again, not only with adjustable stocks but also barrel weights, stock weights and stuff like that (I wont even mention chokes). Having said that,I´ve been shooting with a TSK stock for 7 years now and there is no turning back :)

It's a blend of what's between your ears, confidence and then the capacity to adjust the stock to fine tune it. In that order probably! If it's shooting where you want it to, job done. Thanks for posting Lloyd 👍

My issue is my gun shoots where I aim it, but that's not necessarily where I want it to shoot.

I am 6’ 5” and the TSK has been a Godsend. I set it up at the time of purchase and at the behest of a shooting instructor made one small adjustment a year later. That’s it, I am not ever tempted to tinker any more with it, but perhaps that is just my nature.

Like many here I also agree that too much adjustability can be a rabbit hole down which too many shooters will travel, to thier own detriment. Many shooters can begin to think that, after shooting one bad series of targets, that it must be the adjustments, so they start altering things, rather than realize that maybe its just a bad day. It is my firm belief that getting a gun fitted properly by a trained gun fitter can go along way to whatever level of success one wants to achieve. I shoot, when I can, ISSF skeet here in the states. I shoot an older 1st generation Beretta 682 Gold skeet gun that I have had a TSK installed on. I have set it up myself, as best as I can, by recalling the process used when I had my previous gun, a K80 with Tula chokes. At the range I frequented was Dale Tate, who was Purdey trained. He altered the standard K80 stock for me by changing pitch at the butt, and cast so that I was hitting about 55/45 on the pattern plate and right on the point of aim. I have only been able to get the TSK on the skeet field only a couple of times since I've had it and it feels like I have it dialed in correctly. I will need to get more time on targets to be 100% sure.

In places where we don't have the luxury of access to gunsmiths, gun fitters and stockers, these adjustable stocks are sometimes the most practical solution for shooters

I shoot with a Precision Fit Stock on my F3 and love it. I can’t even imagine having to go back to a standard wood stock. Set it and forget it! Every six month, recalibrate, and forget it again.

I have an Ergosign stock on my DT11. It has imporved my shooting 100%, as I have been able to adjust it to fit me and have left it, now and not tinkered with it. The grip is great as I needed XL and most shotguns come with just a bog standard grip.

I have a Beretta 694 with adjustable comb (and two different backstops), and already that level of adjustability makes me a bit of a tinkerer. Have got it dialled in now, so consciously decided to leave it well alone. So this would not be for me, but looks like a great bit of kit

I have two Ergosigns both on Blaser F3 actions. One Supersporter with high rib and one flat rib. I took a long time to set them up and only change them to settings I have worked up relative to the discipline I am shooting. Being on Blasers I fix the balance point as well. I am lucky that the standard medium grip fits my hand. When I miss it is nothing to do with the stock . Although expensive they are much cheaper than having 3/ 4 guns with custom made stocks. I have no interest in fancy wood or engraving. I shoot sporting, trap and some skeet plus I have different length barrels plus 20 bore and .410 all of which I have developed settings relative to me. My first one was an early one in the UK around 2008. I am pretty sure they shoot where I am looking . I do not change them or chokes once set up.

I don’t run the ergo or a tsk or even the more common pfs seen amongst us American trapshooters. Both of my trap combo guns feature screw-in chokes that are tested for pattern and left in place, adjustable comb and buttplates that again once the gun is fit to me remain stationary. Once poi was perfected even the rib on my unsingle hasn’t moved. With that said adjustability is a bonus in set-up phase of guns and for those people who suffer from wide weight gain/loss swings

I reckon these should only be used by a stockmaker to get your stock dimensions (like Fabrizio does at the Perazzi factory when you get fitted up for a stock). After you've got it where you want it have a stock made to those dimensions. I've seen so many people constantly fiddling with these, making adjustments just because they've had a bad round or an off day. Then having subsequent bad days because their stock is always different and they have no idea where their gun actually shoots...

IMO the person that gets a multi adjustable stock is the same type of person that changes chokes on every station. To me once you get the stock in a shootable position, leave it and shoot 500-600 rounds and see what is happening. If results improve, leave it alone.

Don’t own one and most likely wouldn’t ever want to. I actually prefer to get to know a gun with standard factory specs…I adapt to the gun & I’d agree with your assessment…too many adjustments to the gun. When I miss, I can’t blame the gun so again I agree with you…the adjustments must completed in my head and transferred to optical focus & physical movement. If I miss, my first question is what did I do differently/wrongly. I know a guy with a fully adjustable stock like that but it hasn’t improved his scores though it was pretty expensive and kinda cool to look at.😉

I see quite a lot of this type of stock here in France and I wonder if it is a bit of Emperor's new clothes syndrome. It's a bit like thinking buying a high end DT11 will make you a world champion, it won't. I shoot a 20 year old Browning Ultra XTR mainly on DTL. I am almost always 70 plus points and cannot think that buying one of these stocks or a new expensive gun will make me any better. Nice but not for me.

You can set the balance to be whatever you want with weights. It would be a pain to keep changing the fit back and forth between 2 different shooters.

Not sure I am a fan, these take a lot to setup. Even for MR, Beretta or Perazzi unless they are built 100% for the shooter they ain't going to work. My weight goes up and down during the year so I always look to repattern my gun as often as possible anyway and being a DT11 Xtrap I can adjust a lot.

@@lloydyp thanks. I knew that this existed but I didn't know that they had it in wood. All the ones I've seen before by them were like tactical like stuff. That's interesting. I think that would do really good for the ranger rifle concept. I don't know if you've heard about it over there yet. Basically it's... You know how a scout rifle meets certain criteria? Ranger rifle is kind of like that, but it's designed for rangers. People who work in wildlife and forestry conservation. It's very similar to a scout rifle but different and requires either a custom or adjustable stock. And a lot of these people are in my experience very anti plastic.

Does the design provide shock absorbing recoil reduction? Shame if it didn’t. The question is, let’s assume it cost a thousand dollars, would you be better off with the perfect stock and $250 in shells or shooting what you have and spending $1250 in shells? I know what would be more fun 😁👍🏼

Anyone who owns any type of adjustable stock and keeps messing with it once it’s set is their own worst enemy because any TSK, PFS etc have their place in tje shooting sports and personally I love my PFS that’s much cheaper than having a custom stock made.

totally agree Lloyd, in fact I think i will go further and say they spoiled that gun with fitting it to it. If a gun fits you why do you need the ability to change it, unless there is a medical reason for it

They all thrown shot where you point them. An expensive gun and all the adjustments in the world won’t make you a better shot. I’d say, get a gun that feels comfortable and learn to shoot different target presentations.
