Hi man, yes I was lucky to get that D85 for $200... Funny but the chick I got it from only wanted $150 for it... She promised it all worked, I felt it was worth more so I gave her $200.. Result man..!! Fucking thing weighs a ton tho.. haha!! I was sweet on a Hammond for about the same price.. but saw the D85.. Thanks :) As for extra effects - I installed separate line outs for each D85's output channel (L,C,R, drums) and feed them to the small mixer sitting on top of the organ. This mixer has simple echo effect installed, and I use it on some D85 recordings.

All the sounds are coming from the organ or do you also have some external ones? I love jean michel jarre and i wish i could find how to set up the organ to sound like that

Yes, all the sounds (except from the thunderstorm in the beginning) are coming from the organ. It's just that I installed separate outputs for each channel and drums, and they're mixed on the separate mixer, which is sitting on top of the organ (and adds some echo effect).

Really tight!! Do you like D-85 over E-75? Considering to get one of these two... seems E-75 can be modded but D-85 has three keyboards... what else is different?

I don't have E-75, but they are quite different. Actually, when I think about it now, the D-85 is pretty unique. E-75 is upgraded E-70 - it adds improved rhythm machine and string/choir voices from D-85, but it still remains vastly different instrument. So while I'd love to replace my E-50 with E-75, I'd still like to keep D-85. For example, I think that this Oxygene cover wouldn't be possible on E-75, because it cannot generate that harpsichord sound I used to emulate Jarre's RMI ;)

@@ZeroG E-75 doesn't have solo synth and "special presets" sections that D-85 has. Its organ section has only "flute" voices, while strings are only on preset buttons, switchable on and off. Instead, E-75 has preset "orchestra" section, which is 7 voice polysynth, and it's considered E75 main attraction - but it sounds completely different than various layers of D85. After modding, as you mentioned, it becomes quite powerful polysynth, but still it cannot do some sounds that D-85 makes (and vice versa). That's why it's good to have both ;)
