Eredin. How to make a steel helmet from Witcher 3
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I spent 80 hours on the helmet. Material - 30hgsa, thickness is 2mm. Weight with crown 7360g. Weight without crown 4700g.
I live in Ukraine. Surely you know that the war has come to us. I'm lucky. I am relatively safe and I have both electricity and the Internet. So I can make videos. Our entire knight movement is now actively opposing rascism. Someone from the first days of the war is already in the military, someone is engaged in volunteering to cover the needs of the military or civilians in trouble.
With my creativity, I plan to collect donations to help my friends. Many I know personally. Therefore, I leave my details for those who wish to help.

Right now I'm making a Mandalorian chestplate. And this is an old video that I voiced in English. Happy viewing!

You know the salute of many a military is actually taken from the knights lifting their visors to greet/identify one another? Now you do. heh.

"gradually acquiring the skills of an artist..." he says like he isn't already a VERY accomplished artist, dude is being too humble! what an amazing helmet.

Netflix has 0 excuse for bad costumes if this can be done by a single person in 80 hours. They should hire you.
This channel is very underrated. Brilliant music, brilliant craftsmanship, engaging and knowledgeable commentary, high quality camera work and editing.

This helmet for sure has its weaknesses, but it looks absolutely fantastic brought by you into our real world. I am really forward to you creating a Mandalorian chestplate.

odd question and I know its been 2 months but what weaknesses would it have compared to other helmets?
@SandraOrtmann1976

@@marcus4046 The artist explains it in the video. Another that sprung to me are the high rising spikes, which can catch on things. Or you can stick a stout stick between them and cause serious damage to the wearer's spine by torsion.

Small tip - you actually don't want to temper helmets. It makes still harder, but more brittle. While with the harder hit, the untempered steel will get a small dent, hardened one will show no damage. However, when the hit is significant enough, the unhardened steel will just get a bigger dent, meanwhile with tempered steel you are now forced to remove steel shrapnels from your brain. This unfortunately happened to one of my Polish colleagues on buhurt tournament in Czechia. Since then tempered helmets are banned on buhurt tournaments.
You managed to hone both Priscilla's and a grandmaster armorer's skill at once. Absolutely stunning. Came across this video by accident, and i consider myself lucky in doing so.
Your work is just breathtankingly AMAZING! The amount of work, and artistry and precision is... mindboggling! Thank you for sharing your work with us!
Such a great video. You can clearly see how much effort you put into this next to making the helmet. Thanks for that, keep up the great work.
Absolutely beautiful!!! These are works of art that I wish I had hanging in my house. Thank you for all your hard work to bring this to us!
This man's talent is really something else. Never before have i seen somebody that merges smithing and sculpture in his work like this. Way beyond masterful. Keep it up, mate! Cheers from Spain
"i bend it with hitting" needs to be on a tshirt, if it isn't already. also Love the music!
Commenting in the hopes that the KZread gods see fit to bless this video.
I really enjoyed your breakdown of the design from a practical perspective.
My guy is already an amazing craftsman makeing this helmet from scratch but he throws in the extra flex playing beautiful instruments. You are awsome keep up the great work! Earned my sub.
If by chance Sauron ever returns, I feel like you've got steady employment ahead crafting armor.
Excellent sound mixing. Also a great show of craftsmanship.
This is amazing and beautifully done, definitely do something from Skyrim or just your own fully original helmet looking as simple or as weird as you want, regardless of whatever you make it will be loved by thousands :) stay safe and keep crafting
Making your own tools is one of the signs of a true master craftsperson.
This episode was a whole lot of fun to watch and I am so glad I found your channel. I hope you and all those near or dear to you have great luck and stay healthy and happy in the future. 🤘😁👍
Fantastic editing, great results! Thank you for sharing!
Oh my goodness, I was telling myself "He probably won't bend the eye sockets rim outwards... that would probably make a much better helmet" And holy shit he actually did it. Subscriber earned here!
So I just discovered the channel, this man can forge like a god, can play the guitar (electric too btw), the luth and whatever that medieval-looking instrument was. Adding to all those fantastic skills he's not only making content but also teaching us how to do it. Wow
dude ? underrated alot what??? THIS CHANNEL IS THE DEFFINITION OF PERFECTION
this is so engaging to watch. then there is also a nice band lol ! way to go buddy. i wonder how you dont have millions of subscribers yet. you're so good at what you're doing. even the videography is nice
Amazing craftmanship
Outstanding work... fantastic! It's obviously a fantasy helmet so the weaknesses in design are acceptable especially considering the elfen's power in the story wielding it would easily compensate for those. Beautiful work!!!
This dude edit his own music how cool! Love this.
Absolutely awesome watching you work your craft into spectacular pieces of art! 👏👍
Watched this when it first came out, just stopping by to give you my likes, so you get the recognition you deserve!!
Awesome craftmanship
You are a real finisher, I love you work ! Keep it
Even watching the video didn't prepare me for the amazing results at the end. Remarkable!
It has flaws (Geralt stabs Eredin in the eye in their fight), but I think it also fits Eredin's cocky attitude quite well. "Sword strikes can go through the socket? As if anyone would get a chance!". It looks menacing and awesome, as if death itself was staring back at you with that skull shaped visor.
I have made a few helms before, but I did not have anywhere near as much specialized equipment as you have - so my work was much more simplistic. I had only a tree stump with various sizes of dishes removed and drills, everything was worked cold and riveted, and plenishing was done with a smooth hammer face against a metal post.
You are a very talented person, thank you for sharing your content with us. I wish you well.
Slava, this is a wonderful video with excellent explanations of why the Game? Designers' version of the helmet is unsafe for actual use, since they were most worried about it simply "looking cool." I look forward to your next videos narrated in English! The Russian(?)-language caption @ 12:00, "Время работы: 37час. 45мин" means, in English (per Google Translate), "Working time: 37 hours. 45min" (at that point of this helmet's construction).
Amazing craftsmanship
See, with the Eyes, it's always a trade off between vision and protection. Many Basinet helmets have quick releases for the visor; presumably so you can approach being protected from arrow fire and can then drop the visual hinderance when you get in range of the baddies.
this guy isnt "on his way" to becomming an artist and sculpter, he's already an artist, this helmet was amazing i love it, awesome job
The music blows me away. Not that the smithing is anything less than amazing, but the music is just phenomenal!
Loved everything about this. Thank you!!!!
Wow ,thats craftmanship at its best...
You are extremely talented. Kudos to you.
I like how ur a armorsmith youtuber I've been wanting content like this
A Truly beautiful piece of craftsmanship. You should display some of your work to the filming industry.
Grow. GROW! Great work. Why have I not seen this earlier? Grr. Keep it up dude, it's pure.
Super impressive...well done!
"I feel like I am grudually acquiring the skills of an artist and sculptor", he says, while sculpting a demonic skull in sheet metal
That was the spookiest quench i've ever seen. So badass 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Wow, man ! This is insane, i absolutley love youre work. And the Music 🤣 Nice vibe

Very talented artist. What an amazing helmet.

That is such a cool suit of armor!
Very nice, beautiful work 👍
Amazing skills! Thanks for letting us see and enjoy the beautiful helmet!
Awesome craft. Great job
Master craftsman! I love your work. I am also learning.🤩
the music is so bloody cool, the helmet is even cooler
Iam so pleased that 8 came across your site fantastic work all do at the end I was wishing you would stop hitting that work of art you are so gifted with skills
Fantastic work!
My theory about how the visor works in the game is that there are some sort of strong (or magical) magnets inside it that permit Eredin to remove it and put it back just like a pair of sunglasses.
Master armorer, amazing skill!
Excellent! , forgeron hors pair, doublé d'un barde compositeur, mille bravos!
Maybe try a media blasting cabinet for scale removal? Amazing work mate!
This is really, really nice work.
Dude this is masterful
Awesome work man👍
That shot with the quench, the red hot skull dropping into the tank… holy shit
beautiful work
What a great video, and amazing music! I hope you guys get on the soundtrack of The Witcher 4
Awesome work and great music! Are you going to release them on spotify?
Congratulations, great job
Great craftmanship btw. The soundtrack didnt have to go so hard tho, but you killed it anyway.
This deserves millions of views!

Definitely one of my favorites. So freakin cool
Really good work dude
awesome stuff man!! One thing i was wondering while reading the descriptions; How does the weight of the helmet compare to a "normal" war-ready helmet? are they somewhat equal in weight or far apart? *looking forward to see the mandalorian chestplate :D
@vadimblin
Жыл бұрын
It should be really close... only the crown adds additional weight but the rest... could have existed like that in late medieval times
Also a lot of people don’t know but you might. If you have a hole or blow a hole, you can put a piece of brass behind the hole and then mig weld it. The brass will absorb the heat and not stick and ensure you don’t blow a bigger hole
Nice professional work never so sambudi with somutch Talent
I think they use magic as a locking mechanism, and also the material could be quite tough
Great work u do! Respect
Awesome stuff.
the music behind is awesome
TRUE ARTIST ! VERY NICE ...
11:30 this is such a cool transition!
Love the music and band of 1
This is crazy.... Respect.
That is BadAss looking, I would love one

Your channel is SO cool. Great job. And amazing job helping in Ukraine.

Awesome helmet! Do you weld in spots to prevent warping?
Awesome work 👍😃👍
