Equipping Firefighters for the Frontline: The Importance of Training & Safety
The Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI) recently teamed up with Fire Department Coffee (FDC) to discuss the importance of firefighter training and safety, and shared stories about real-life situations where training came into action. This film was also made possible in part by @idexfiresafety3432, who donated $5000 directly to IFSI.
IFSI recognizes the significance of comprehensive training programs to equip firefighters with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond effectively to emergencies. With a focus on state-of-the-art training techniques, IFSI strives to enhance the capabilities of firefighters nationwide.
FDC is no stranger to the importance of firefighter training and safety. As a company run by active and retired firefighters, we strive every day to give back to those that risk their lives to keep us safe. Throughout August, FDC has been raising money for IFSI through the Fire Department Shirt Club and Fire Department Coffee Club. Each purchase directly gives back to IFSI to ensure firefighters have access to the tools they need. Learn more at www.firedeptcoffee.com/blogs/...

remember: you can't save anyone if you screw up and have to be rescued. learn every day, so you can be the hero, not the challenge.

Good call. If you freeze up your bros are gone. But don't get discouraged. You may see us old folks not look worried. It's only cause we've already done it. To not be scared is stupidity. Sincerely just a former contractor.

@acknowledgedofalltheconseq366 if being mean keeps one firefighter from getting hurt or killed for no benefit, it's worth it.

The first time you put on your bunker gear for a real world scenario is nerve wracking. You never forget that. One of our crew was critically injured by a falling ceiling that call. He survived, but was paralyzed from the hip down.
I've been an EMT for 2 years now. But I've always been fascinated with the fire service. I have no interest in becoming a firefighter myself because I wouldn't be able to handle it. But I'm always interested by the training that you guys do. Thank you for everything you all have done especially those who do wildland fires! I bow down to you all for all the work you do! ❤🚒❤🚒❤🚒

@@donnjb83 fireman challenges are the same way. You try and tell thr young ones tht slow is fast and most can't grasp it. They ill understand later but if people slow theor roll it does get fast by itself.
Thank you, as a non-firefighter, I both learned something, and gained wisdom I can apply in my personal life.

Excellent!
Holding a sparkler makes me nervous, I'm delighted there are brave people out there that choose to be firefighters ❤
Only more practical training can bring you the skills you need out in the reality of the job!
Have served Aussie military and we trained for fire fighting and damage control every single day. It took the loss of four sailors in HMAS Westralia for the heads of services to update SOP and equipment….
Awesome, very well shot and done. You guys just keep killing it.

The work you first responders do is brave.
"Train as you fight, fight as you train." Go get 'em, boys.
Fire and rescue is the best of the bunch. Hands down. Whether a kid falls and breaks their leg or the third floor of a building is engulfed in flames, they know what to do. They’re always the first ones at the scene and the last ones to leave. The amount of lives they’ve been able to save and give direct medical attention to is astounding, and they commend my respect.
Love prayers and respect thank you
Training takes over when the panic settles in.
Firefighters are my heroes😍🇺🇸🔥
Thank you for saving our asses!!!
Hmm very interesting
I wish north dakota would put in place standards for volunteer firefighters to just get the basics
I volunteer with Matt Goodner, legitimately one of coolest dudes ive ever met, he really does stand by what he says and makes sure he passes on his training to everyone he can
I hope all the firefighters never risk their lives to save a property, only other lives.

Great training is the best. I was taught to not make my patients have to take care of me. 😊
I’ve been retired for three years and I miss every second of patient care and Fire Rescue. BEST JOB IN THE WORLD!
I read that shi fortnite
I remember my firefighter training. The second thing they told us was "don't do this"american Style". Don't be a Hero. Your own safety comes first." The first thing they said was "You're not a soldier. Think for yourself, it can save your and your buddies Life"
