    I've started melting and stuff about a month ago. I've made a bunch of ingots so far, bronze, copper, brass, and it's so fun. I totally suggest others to get into it. It's a fun hobby.

    Can you smelt metal indoors? Particularly silver. If yes what are some safety tips you could give? I figured it would be safe with an electric furnace in an unfinished basement with plenty of space around it

    Can you melt silver in the graphite mold itself with a torch? I have a bunch of silver shot and I’m just looking to make little 1-2 oz bars but I don’t wanna buy a furnace just for that. Could I get a couple graphite molds I like and a torch and just melt the shot in the mold?

    Electric furnaces seem like a easier way to melt, but I've seen negative reviews about coils burning out within Short time of using it. Are there any reliable well made furnaces that don't burn out so quick

    Sterling Cannabis very cool! just remember to get borax to glaze your whip first before putting the silver in... i’m probably gonna pour at either 7 or 8 pm tomorrow depends on when the kids go to bed. i’ll set up the stream before hand 👍🏽🔥🐉

    I put Apple cider vinegar in my tumbler because it melts and cleans the graphite or glaze off the silver then all I need to do is polish it✌

    @silverdragons Those molds would give a "perfect" round with the design as the design is built in. How would you make a round that looks like an old pirate coin where the edges or "ugly" would you mold into a regular round then hammer the design with a die? use some kind a press?

    I've been trying to get an answer for this question. When making homemade bars are they harder to sell due to questionable origins and possible additional metals added to lower the silver content from dishonest people?

    On Instagram, people don't seem to have a problem selling their stuff. Someone will check purity. Once you are outed, your business is over. The person who buys your bar may have problems reselling it in the future, depending on who he is trying to sell to.
