at 16 i ported a set of J heads on my 79 360 engine and put a set of used long tub heads on my 79 step-side. i was surprised in the change even with a stock cam. of course, when i got older and cars became a money pit lol i ended up stroking that engine. i even round off the intake, most people forget the intake.

Impressive flow numbers for a 1.92 valve size! I've heard it said before that Mopar small block heads have the ability to show more improvement than a Ford or Chevrolet small block head.

One of the advantages of doing your head to port match is that any fuel that has stuck to the port wall gets sheared off and pulled back into the air stream by the turbulence. Being relatively close to the valve I think that this is actually a significant advantage, particularly at part throttle operation. Regards Greg

I have a question about the EQ Chinese made heads. I used a set of EQ heads a long time ago when they were made in Aussie land and they worked quite well and had quality work. They were in a 98 Dodge 1500 pick up that I did some light towing with. Question on the Chinese units: are they cast & machined in China or machined elsewhere? I'm concerned about their durability more than performance, I would use them for light to medium towing. I know you do mostly performance work but you may have some input about their utility use. Still following the 318 mission impossible thing.

No way. They are all smoothing the parts. It’s a great feature using the very best whits all pulling together so Tony can go calling out Hemis at the strip one by one with a bone stock appearing ringer. What great fun! Eventually raffled to benefit St. Judes.

IMHO, going from 1.92" to 2.02" will gain NOTHING in a truck and not worth the time or money. Even going from 1.92" to 2.08" on a truck, not worth the time or money. But the customer pays talk them into 2.08".

In a Chevy or Ford the big valve would boost up the midrange flows quite a bit. I would think the same would happen on the Mopar heads. Thanks

In that case, see about putting 2.08" valves in. If you're goina go big, go big. Cut is about the same time wise.
