EPS 142, Brad Kidd interviews Ben Husthwaite !

Спорт

We were asked by Brad Kidd Jr. if he could interview Ben Husthwaite on our show. Brad wanted to ask Ben specific questions that had not been talked about on a podcast or interview previously.
The day before recording, Brad said he wants this all to be on video, so we scrambled the jets, and set the whole thing up on video. To see the video, please follow our KZread link below.
What this episode brings, is an inside look at a conversation between 2 pro shooters and how they manage their tournaments both mentally and physically, to perform at their peak.
For the new shooter, both Ben and Brad have a lot to offer in this episode! Strap in and hang on, it's show time!

I liked the video versus just a podcast. It was good to see the faces talking and facial expressions when someone said something funny. I see two areas to improve. First I wish Brad would ask a question and let Ben answer. The second thing is talking over each other. I found it hard to follow when two people talking. A future show of Ben coaching Brad when Brad can shoot would be a great show. It would be a great example of how coaching can work over the Internet. We wouldn’t have travel hundreds of miles to a trading class. Again, compliments on the show. It was very good and informative. I could listen to Ben for a couple of hours. I am a subscriber to his training site. Excellent videos.

I really enjoyed it, but it was very frustrating that Ben was talked over or cut off so many times - even when a question was directed to him.

I like how Ben took on the whole look at the bird thing in the US and countered it. I think looking at the bird with ability to have a measured approach might be the way to go. We will see how we evolve here in the US.

Its funny about shooting with your kids. I was always more excited and nervous more about my kids shooting well and having a good time instead of me shooting well.

Fantastic content, so great to hear these two top level shooters discussing shooting and how they approach it. I would however have to disagree with BH here on maintained lead being such a bete noire .. How can matching the speed of the clay not give you clay speed ? also ML gives you consistent gun speed in relation to the clay (which is one of the hardest variables for many shooters to achieve when using ST or PA). you can just as easily swing through or pull away on the wrong line , or (much worse) swing through different distances each time or at different speeds... no method is foolproof and it comes down to what works best for you yourself. Guys at this level can shoot any method they want very well; but for many mere mortals imo for the majority of crossers + loopers maintained lead solves more problems than it creates... or at least don't be talked out of it if it works for YOU. Anyway loved the video, thanks guys. Not knocking BH, hes a great guy! just sticking up for Maintained Lead :^)

Unfortunately nearly everything written above is wrong. As I explained in the video sir. And it’s the reason no one in the top 10 shoots it
