With the cruzer the extension on the chassis rails are for a PTO winch that runs off the front diff. I had a fj 40 shorty with a ford 202 cross flow did allright but the clutch at the time was near 1k to replace

You're a saviour! I pulled my Tonner fuel tank out about 8 years ago and only now am about to re-install it. Do you think I had any clue as to what goes where? Champion! Thanks for detailing this, you saved me plenty of frustration.

You will need to ensure the new sender is earthed to the chassie, to make sure the fuel gauge works.

Good all round diff ratio I reckon anyway. Here’s a little info about 40 series Toyota’s, hj is diesel, fj is petrol and the bull bar is a original arb bar from the looks. You’ve got some cool toys mate

Thanks mate, yeah I reckon it's not that bad a ratio after thinking about it. Yeah lots of broken toys😂

I thought of something, you should have your extractor fans down low so your pulling the overspray down from your intake filter up high. That's how a semi downdraught booth works. You can wet the floor down as well. 👍

Yeah i reckon i will get another unti and and have 2 sitting on the floor and join the outtake ducts into a split system.

hi Yes rubber strips works best for tank straps. The bundy line fuel/brake is coated with majority of zinc . This is only general purpose tubing , not automotive . Original GM hard lines were called Terne coated =high lead level with tiny amount of zinc .Modern zinc lines for the car companies are dipped a long time for more zinc to stick to product so its coating is thick . Cheap zinc lines are an issue ,,they rust easily . SOLUTION = cop Nik [copper nickle ] lines fully RTA approved available 7mtrs cost bout 100$ from brake shops . Easy to bend and will not ever corrode in/outside ever

@@BarnesysBuilds Have a look at the Iron Lion project on the Skid factory Barnesy. They did a couple of vids on a BW78 diff into a HJ wags.

My WB I’d plate shows diff as GV4 and it had a 3.36 in it, possibly the standard diff. It is 3.08:1 now. It is 4.2, 4 speed factory. The 3.08 is much better on the road and for fuel consumption. It makes 1st gear tall, difficult in parades on a hill, a small price to pay. Your fuel lines look like new compared to mine. Jeff

Yeah I know, the 3.08 was the one I was after, anyway I've given up the search and just got to run it as is. Cheers

comming along the tojo was a good score the broken manifold bolts are a prob i'd try bolting the extractors to the head to use the hole as a guide to drill the broken studs out might help keep it centred while drilling the only mild steel studs most times i've use this method in the past to do it on red motor heads and datsuns etc

Thanks mate, yeah drilling is out unfortunately, only option left before I have to unbolt the head is to weld a nut onto the end and try and undo it that way. There's a few methods I've researched that might work.

Charcoal canister seems alright, I might reuse and just plumb to the exisiting line as I will be running a new fuel line now as stock is too small.
