Episode 2- LOSI Polarey Polaris RZR - HOW TO BUILD an RC that does not exist

When working on my Losi Hammer Rey, I suddenly felt inspired. The wheelbase looked like the Arrma FireTeam body and cage would be a perfect fit, and since I'm a huge fan of side by side off-road vehicles, the plans for a new build were born: a Losi PolaRey. Using the chassis components of the Losi Hammer Rey with minimal modifications, adding a few CNC machined parts to adapt the cage, I set out to work. And this video is the second of three in which I will walk you through a process of how I built a vehicle that on its launch had a lot of people thinking this was an actual new release by Losi. Despite it being a little joke, a prank, a gaffe, or whatever you want to call it, I hope my release inspires you to get creative with existing components to create some fresh looking new RC's.
In this second assembly episode I walk you through my interior panel modifications, the ESC relocating and the braces I made to stiffen up the rear shocktowers. There are also a lot of parts that I found can easily be adapted to work very well on the Arrma FireTeam cage and body panels, like the helmets, the radiator, the entire light kit and even the Magnaflow exhaust system. A little creative thinking can go a really long way!

The PolaRey is ideal for adventure-minded off-road enthusiasts looking for the top-of-the-line RC experience with the inclusion of AVC and the three-position limiting switch. With the PolaRey, Losi continues to push the limits when it comes to scale details, performance and officially licensed products."
Powered with the known Spektrum 130A waterproof ESC which is paired to a 3150kV brushless Spektrum motor, the Losi PolaRey is the latest in the line of 1/10th scale Losi Rey vehicles. Advised is to power the vehicle with a 3S LiPo max, and swapping batteries is easy with their unique back loading battery system. The PolaRey stands on licensed Interco SuperSwamper tires which are 5.4 inches tall, mounted on a tough design 1.9 sized wheel. An overload on scale details like a radiator, brake discs and calipers on each corner, a detailed interior panel with a driver and co-pilot, exhaust system and shock reservoirs complete the look of this all-new vehicle, setting the tone for 2023. Horizon manages to inspire with their product range once again, triggering innovation and creativity.

This build is really incredible and definitely something to be proud of. You really demonstrated how you can build something no one has with parts you might already have collecting dust somewhere. And it shows they could very easily change a few things on the Fireteam to give that platform appeal to a wider audience.

That is the most outstanding RC vehicle I have ever seen Chris. I really hope someone will team up with you and release your ideas and make a vehicle like it for people to enjoy. I would sell my entire 40 year RC collection just to get one of those. This project is off the charts Chris. I know I say that about everything you do which is true, but I absolutely LOVE this vehicle. You are a modern day Einstein! I personally would really like to see more of this type of vehicle from you Chris, as there is nothing quite like it. Outstanding job my friend. 👏👏👏

It convinced me. I thought the tires where an odd choice for Losi to make. I also thought, ‘if he says it’s coming out, why wouldn’t it.’ It is a really impressive build, but most of your stuff is top shelf. I am in the middle of changing up my Baja-Rey. I’ve been procrastinating on the style direction I am going to take.

Looks good minus the tires. They are more a crawler or jeep tire. While SxS's like to get muddy swampers like the tires you have arn't typically used.

I didn't email Losi because I didn't exactly have the money for it but you had me fooled lol, a have a question, did you ever find a 17mm adapter that would fit this truck, I've tried several and no luck.
