Episode 140 - Remi Adeleke

Ойын-сауық

Remi Adeleke was born in Western Africa and moved to New York City with his mother and brother following the death of his father. In 2002 he joined the U.S. Navy, ultimately completing the grueling training to become a member of the select U.S. Navy SEALs. Since completing his military service, Remi has had successful careers in writing, speaking, and films. He appeared in the 2017 franchise film Transformers: The Last Knight, and served as the lead technical advisor on the Netflix production 6 Underground. Remi also partners with City Hope in La Mesa, California, where he mentors at-risk and inner-city youth.

Absolutely! His mom's an amazing woman! And there are so many single mothers out there across the country who are incredible human beings. But how about that female recruiter? That's such an incredible story how she saw something in Remi and went out of her way to help him and went before not one but TWO judges to help him get his record expunged, get the warrants against him dropped and to get him into the Navy. It's a good thing that Remi is working in film because the dude's life and backstory reads like the plot for a movie!

I got way too excited when Remi started referencing the production on a story about Harriet Jacobs. I read her biography, “Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl” 15 years ago and wondered how no one had made a movie about her life. Her story is pretty amazing. I look forward to seeing this come to life on the screen. Normally, I would be leery of adaptations of books-turned-movies, but I’m hoping you do it justice. 😁

Chris was muscled like a Greek god and had almost zero body fat and simply wouldn't float, so he was taking water survival for the third time. It was crazy, he could jump in the pool with a lung full of air and would go straight to the bottom, no buoyancy whatsoever. He completed the course, though, he was one tough mutha, he just had to tread water like crazy...

Great thing about this podcast and the reason why it’s my favorite one today is - 1.) consistency, he uploads great content all the time now. There are some other podcasts I like but they drop episodes like once every 4 months 2.) Andy lets the guest tell their story, if this were JRE, Rogan would go down a rabbit hole about cell phone fraud and tech companies and ppl need meaning in their life and all this other shit for an hour and completely derail the guests story... so I appreciate that and I appreciate you uploading these!
