Defying All Odds - A SEAL’s Unlikely Journey - with Remi Adeleke

Ойын-сауық

Remi Adeleke is a man whose life is a testament to the power of perseverance and the human spirit's ability to overcome adversity. Remi's story stretches from the throne of West Africa, through the streets of the Bronx, and into uniform with the US Navy SEALs. His journey is packed with lessons on leadership, resilience, and the importance of owning your mistakes.
Remi served 13 years as a US Navy SEAL, facing some of the harshest environments known to man. He faced a unique set of challenges during his transition from an adolescence spent in the Bronx to the military, which he now shares as a motivational speaker, educating, inspiring, and motivating people around him.
Beyond his military career, Remi has flexed his skills in the world of acting, starring in films such as Transformers: The Last Knight and 6 Underground, and most recently joined the Directing Staff of the hit Channel 4 series SAS: Who Dares Wins. Also, as an author, Remi penned the book Transformed: A Navy SEAL’s Unlikely Journey from the Throne of Africa, to the Streets of the Bronx, to Defying All Odds.
His newest book, Chameleon, will be available on the 25th of July and can be purchased wherever you find your books.

Remi’s Mother is amazing-I raised 5 sons alone and went back to school-only had grade 9 but somebody - meaning me had to feed them! In my 70’s now and the only regret is wishing I had more time with my sons! Only my 2 youngest went to the very first Day Care ( Sadly Day Care should not be raising our children ) in Medicine Hat, Alberta! It makes a huge difference! The 3 oldest are very successful and youngest 2 are fine now but had some real struggles with local gang life and addictions to alcohol and nicotine! Thank Creator despite the struggles and heartbreak both are doing good! Day Cares cannot replace family but I do know that single parents are put in a difficult position and be careful about pointing fingers - it still takes 2 to make a child! My husband passed away when our youngest was 14 months old!

I’m from Bozeman, I visited Black Rifle Coffee in Kalispell and it was awesome. I loved the dark steel fireplace and exposed ducts on the ceiling. Outdoor patio was well done. The VFW was right behind it and I felt the sense of community that you have created there for vets and their families. I’m not a vet but I love what you have created there.

However, I find myself nostalgic when listening, thinking about the ‘OG’s’ that fueled my own interest in the podcast. I’d love to see some of those guests revisited in some episodes going forward. Thinking about guys like Jeff (not tall) Bridges, SSS(also not tall but has a great sack tickler of a goatee), Evangelista(snowy boy), nick norris(bridges little brother), bill rapier✝️, Jason Tuschen, Jason Silva. All love, I hope all is well. I’ll continue to be a listener whether you bring back the short kings or not.

I wasn't in the military personally, but, I did come from a military family so I had that work for yourself and what you want ingrained into me, and was able to pass that along and help her along the way. Now, we're more prosperous than what she came even from

I think when it comes to the Diversity topic I do want to point out a couple of things I do agree that people were/are/will get killed by the implementation of Diversity over Skill! I also can see that unfortunately as exciting it is to me to see diversity out there, I can also see that big companies are profiting on implementing this diversity and it is my belief that the meaning got lost in the money gained. My two cents are more regarding the whole concept of implementing diversity When it comes to opportunities, I come from a country where majority of those that live in poor community are black and those people have to deal with shootouts, school’s low level of education, lack of food and etc and it eventually becomes a cycle where those that live in those communities are faced with many obstacles to gain the skills necessary to compete equally for the same job, on top of that, racism is still very real and we all still have the racist thought process engraved in our brain. I certainly have heard that I wasn’t allowed to go for a specific position because English was not my first language… I do think the fights that many activists have fought and are still fighting no longer have the same meaning which should equality and improve overall quality of life! Either way, I strongly believe that Media has distorted (alongside extremists) what inclusion and diversity should be and here we are against each other once again. Inclusion should not mean excluding people that are skilled for a job, but, it can’t happen without recognising the struggles that many of those excluded face to gain the skills necessary. Im glad to have stumbled across this channel! Peace everyone

Agreed. Everybody makes dumb mistakes and Hollywood celebrities are no different. They're still people just like the rest of us. I have enjoyed a lot of Will Smith's movies and I do think that with the right movie, the public will accept him back! But what I will say about the whole incident with Chris Rock at last year's Oscars Awards is that what really bothered me about the whole thing was that it came across as bullying because I felt like Will Smith knew that he could get away with doing that to Chris Rock and that he knew that Chris Rock wasn't going to do anything( and I've heard a LOT of other people say that about the incident, including Joe Rogan, Jocko Willink and Echo Charles). I don't think that he would've done something like that to Joe Rogan or Mike Tyson or any of the rappers( and it's a really long list of rappers that have derided Smith and called him soft, not tough enough, not ''hood enough'', not ''street enough'', not ''gangsta enough'' and so on and so forth) that have mocked him and made fun of him. It also made Smith look weak and thin-skinned and like he can't take a joke. I don't like bullies so that really made me lose respect for Will Smith when he did that but he's apologized for it numerous times and he really does seem to genuinely regret it, so I wish him all the best of luck in getting a second chance in Hollywood and being accepted back by the public!

Unfortunately, in countries with endemic poverty, or in conflict ,or devastated by natural disasters; doctors, nurses, educators are targeted. Sometimes (not all) it is not the money but that they and/or their families are threatened if they don't comply. Infitration through medical universities is another way the criminal networks build their "staff of expertise". Organ "harvesting" in various forms has been around since written about in Ancient Greek texts but the scope/profit is now astronomical. The demand soaring. Awareness is important. Thank you for speaking about it albeit, briefly.

"Ode to the Shadow Boxer" Verse 1) In lands of old, where shadows loomed, A legend rose, his light consumed, Beside the lake, 'neath eclipsed array, The Shadow Boxer danced, his heart at bay. (Pre-Chorus) One nanosecond, he led the way, Defeating darkness, night and day, Celestial battle, stars his guide, He fought for truth, with none to chide. (Chorus) Oh, Shadow Boxer, celestial sage, Your tale shall echo through every age, From heart to heart, the story we'll pass, Enlightening souls, like stars in mass. (Verse 2) Beneath the moon's eternal glow, He taught of stars, their cosmic show, His wisdom whispered in the breeze, A symphony of truth, across all seas. (Pre-Chorus) With every move, a lesson learned, Far from ignorance, his soul yearned, He raised the torch, the light to share, To free the minds, from darkness' snare. (Chorus) Oh, Shadow Boxer, celestial sage, Your tale shall echo through every age, From heart to heart, the story we'll pass, Enlightening souls, like stars in mass. (Bridge) Through Plato's Cave, he led the way, Breaking chains that held at bay, Emerging from the depths of night, He showed us all, the path to light. (Verse 3) From generation unto generation, His song will soar, a revelation, The Shadow Boxer's legacy strong, His truths and love will live along. (Pre-Chorus) With every shadow cast aside, The world transformed, no more to hide, In unity, we'll stand abreast, And conquer darkness, with knowledge blessed. (Chorus) Oh, Shadow Boxer, celestial sage, Your tale shall echo through every age, From heart to heart, the story we'll pass, Enlightening souls, like stars in mass. (Outro) In lands of old, and those anew, Your song will sing, forever true, A timeless melody, we'll embrace, The Shadow Boxer's eternal grace. .

Its at least a 8 year wait,my 26 year old son has been on list for over 1 year and they told him 6 to 8 years is most likely the other day so its only getting longer sadly. If someone wanted to sell a kidney when they really needed the money why not let them. They would get the money they need and save someones life at same time.

When it comes to migrants coming into schools here in the states. My wife is a teacher in the lower Florida keys.. we’ve had an influx of Cuban refugees come to area. The kids get dropped into the school system know no English at all. I don’t necessarily have a problem with that.. but.. the teachers who get these kids pay is based on performance.. so their score goes way down when you have 5 kids who don’t speak any English dropped in your class who have barely any education. Now their pay is getting lowered because these kids can pass the tests required to meet the minimum scores.. that sucks

My comment keeps getting deleted saying: “Go easier on Jack Carr. He’s a good dude with a lot on his plate.”

[1:39:37] On the question of Remi's dream project, that would go something like 'The Fall of Lucifer' as an animated movie, there's a lady named Sophia Stewart who says George Lucas' "Star Wars" was exactly that. And she adds that this inspired her to write a movie treatment, called The Third Eye, which later became Matrix and Terminator movies: The second coming of the Christ.

Remi's story literally sounds like kill mongers in black panther. But remi's is cooler because it's true and he turned it into something positive.
