It’s ironic, everyone here in this video is complimenting Stephen Jackson for what he did but he basically detests his time in SA (he compared it to being in jail). Such a shame that he thinks that way, cause the 2003 team was incredible.

Well, Stephen Jackson has demonstrated, on numerous occasions, that he's not very smart. It's not surprising that he didn't understand how good he had it.

Agreed!! If he knew how much respect this city actually has for him. It’s a shame. He does it that way, and Robert Horry does the same. San Antonio owes about 3 championships worth to them.

That Laker Dynasty seemed like the longest three years of my Spurs loving life. After ‘99, we were still dominating the lakers during the ‘00 season. Then Timmy gets hurt and we lost PHX in the first round and don’t get to play the Lakers. By the time ‘01 rolled around, Shaq and Kobe had completely grown out of our control. Especially when we had no athletic wingman to match up with Kobe. Derek Anderson had brought some hope but also got hurt against the Mavs and never fully recovered by the time the Lakers rolled around. In ‘02 we still had a big hole at the 2 guard so we got destroyed again. When ‘03 rolled around, it felt different.

Nobody expected the Spurs to win it all that 2002-03 Season. They were basically unassuming and under-the-radar. The Lakers are the league's apple of the eye, as always. Dallas started the Season 13-0 (or 14-0)? Sacramento loaded even more, revved to bounce back after being so close dethroning the Lakers. Further international interest because of China's Yao Ming. This is the first year of the Rodeo Road trip (8-1), which become SA's "season routine" to sharpen their bunker mentality for the homestretch and preparation for the Playoffs. Traded Antonio Daniels (developed into the team's reliable scorer) to Steve Kerr. 25 y/o rookie Manu Ginobili was signed, in hopes for him to fill the slot. Nenad Kristic was the intended draft selection but New Jersey took him. SA used it to pick John Salmons instead, later traded for Craig "Speedy" Claxton as backup PG voided by Terry Porter's retirement. This is the time Coach Pop implemented new offensive plays at the perimeter to complement the youth movement's speed, off-ball motion plays, and international experience. This also lessened the burden to "four-down", a playsign for Tim to get the ball inside and wait how the defense reacts. With Parker, Manu, Speedy, and Jackson doing their motion offense, Tim Duncan improved his passing skills this season. Youth is well-complemented with veterans at the twilight of their careers. It was perfect mix. And this championship run proves the 1999 Title is no fluke. From "asterisk", Phil called the 2003 Title finish as "aberration." Anyhow, this Title kept Tim Duncan a Spur for life, signing a 7-year deal worth 110M-plus. (And pardon the litany.)

I worked at Mimi’s Cafe as a bartender. A French cuisine in San Antonio Texas, La Cantera area. Stephen Jackson once came in with his lady and had a Bloody Mary. He was kind, appreciative, and just a cool dude. Has nothing to do with the video but this brought back that memory. Love my spurs forever

Will always be my favorite championship! People forget we weren’t always this revered powerhouse. We had been criticized and mocked for the lockout 99 championship. This team overcame a gauntlet and finally shut down all of the side of the mouth talk. The 2nd round win over the Lakers, like Malik said, was a championship all in itself.

I’m sure Duncan was crying even worse when the Lakers swepted and gentlemen swepted the Spurs in 2001 and 2002, including whooping the Spurs asses by 39 & 29 points games 3 & 4 2001 WCF. And I’m sure Duncan cried like a baby after Kobe without Shaq gentlemen swepted Duncan’s ass in the 2008 WCF, preventing them from winning back to back titles.😂🤣

@@Theterminato2013 Liar. Pathetic Sasuke's butt. Please present a link Timmy cried. And hey, you might bring up what happened to Kobe. After the dethronement, Kobe had a time to make an immoral extracurricular. Blowout leads don't mean a thing if one of the players responsible for it is in the afterlife, reminding again basketball is a pathetic achievement if you're not responsible outside of it. And you might be next. ;)
