Sometimes characters wear clothes/costumes made of unstable molecules, which allows their clothing to adapt to their powers. That's why, for example, Human Torch rarely ever burns his clothes off.

I think that was only a thing in the first class movie. Most of the time, she can’t. And if she can, I like to joke that her powers know better than to ruin the Luis Vuittons.

@@manicwebb this is untrue, there where multiple occasions where Emma turn just her skin diamond and there where multiple occasions where she turn her skin and clothing diamond at will, in the comics, she have used a cape to slice off a man’s face cause it was turned to diamond, and if you check the recent iron man comic and covers its backs my case, so if she is capable of doing that it’s only logical for her to gain the Baltic to cover people in diamond , which I think is useful
