X-men red was my favorite book this year and maybe my favorite from Krakoa. I’ve always been a Storm fan and this series gave her the justice her fans wanted. Hopefully other writers continue Storms story in the same epic fashion. I hope Storm doesn’t go back to the supporting character she usually is.

Modern Marvels handling of Storm has been an utter disgrace. She was the main character and leader of Marvels biggest team for decades and omnipresent across the comic line. Now people are happy if she gets elevated from supporting character for a few issues

The problem with Storm as a character that I think writers keep running into and hence avoid us that it’s always about upping the ante and her always ultimately winning by her outsmarting her opponent and leveling up powers. Since the days of her fight with Callisto, she’s always the badass with moral superiority and dramatic mic-drops who ends up on top. There’s only so far you can take this and repeat it. The closest thing to Storm hitting a low was the techno organic virus she got a couple years ago and that seemed to disappear quickly without much consequence to her as a character

​@@rodniegsm1575 Fully agree! I love the idea of Storm being the leader of a new Brotherhood of Mutants with the Arraki characters sticking around. My main hope is with the possibile return of Magneto in RoM leading to him also being apart of this new brotherhood, as this would truly make this team even more perfect!

This run of the X-Men has been the era of STORM and she deserves it. Can't wait for the conclusion to the war with ORCHIS. Hopefully going forward all the character growth with Storm follows in the soft reboot and Krakoa/ Arrakko still exists.

Krakoan age has been by far the worst era for Storm in her entire long history with X-men. She used to be the leader of Marvels biggest team and omnipresent across the whole company line for decades. But she's barely been in X-men books (let alone Marvel events) throughout Krakoan age. Giving her all the titles in the universe is ultimately meaningless if vast majority of modern Marvel writers either reduce her to one dimensional supporting character or just ignore her entirely. Only 1 writer (Ewing) has very recently remembered she even exists. Contrast this to the prominence, epic stories and in depth character development she had in Claremont era for decades. You shouldn't be praising modern Marvel for their shameful handling of a legendary and beloved character.

X-Men Red, along with Immortal X-Men have truly been the flag ships of the X-Men titles.

Very excited for the future of Storm. As was highlighted during the video, I love how this whole story emphasized Storm’s prowess as a tactician in combination with her strong moral compass, while STILL showing off impressive feats of her raw power. Really hope the MCU leans into all of Storm’s talents, especially leadership.

Great ending to a great book. Storm finally got a great story arc thanks to Al Ewing. Both Al and Kieron have done a great job picking up where Hickman left off. I really enjoyed 'Destiny of X' & 'Fall of X'. I'm fascinated with mutants who have chlorokenetic powers: Genesis, Brotha Nature, Flourish, Nature Girl.

I hope this means that Storm is now the leader of Arrako permanently now. She doesn’t get the justice on Krakoa

bro the krakoan council made her regent of sol, not earth, not arrako but the entire solar system. in the last 2 years storm has beat vulcan(who we found out in empyre is stronger than captain marvel), death, magneto and her were the only 2 that could even stand against uranus, and now she has beat genesis. she was hurting even thor when he pulled her away from arrako.

Despite decades of being X-mens undisputed (and arguably all-time best) leader- she was inexplicably a subordinate supporting character in Marauders! I've read and own every X-men book since 1963. If you're happy with the meagre and frankly insulting scraps they're throwing Storms way these days- then respectfully you are the one who couldn't have been reading X-men from 1975-2005. Storm is supposed to be a main character (in every X-men story) and one of Marvels biggest characters period. During 80s and 90s Storm was selling way more comics than any of the MCU characters. She was X-mens main character and leader during their greatest and most legendary stories- at a time when X-men consistently sold millions. With the possible exception of Spider-Man she was arguably Marvels most visible character and easily the most beloved/famous female superhero in all comics. She was front and centre in crossovers, merch, videogames and cartoons. More importantly- she had real and in depth character work- not just token titles. It doesn't matter if modern Marvel declare her queen of the omniverse and stronger than Galactus- if she isn't regularly a main character across all X-men/Marvel books- then this is just insulting tokenism. Krakoan era has been an absolute disgrace. Between the appalling continuity errors, fascistic leanings, complete misrepresentation of mutant/human history, bad characterisation and total disservice of beloved characters- it's no surprise that X-men has lost all it's fans and is desperately trying to reboot. Too little too late- the damage is done and those soulless clones are irredeemable. Perhaps it's ironically for the best that modern Marvel has almost completely ignored Storm (less character damage done and she's one of the few not killed off and replaced with soulless clone?)

I want Eternity to grab hold of Storm like Phoenix took hold of Jean Grey.

I'm too much of a powerscaler and wanted to see a more drawn out fight, and this being a monthly series limits that, but this was nonetheless a great end to the ideological conflict between Storm and Genesis I can't wait for what future writers are able to cook with the ingredients Ewing's set up

Honestly, I wish Marvel would've allowed Al Ewing more issues to flesh out the war and include more battles, or maybe even hired an editor to help him with the fight scenes. But I may just be spoiled with how mangakas are able to create epic battles that span pages in mangas like Bleach or One Punch Man. Oh well, Xmen Red was still an enjoyable ride and I can't wait for Resurrection of Magneto!

This is a good read, but I'm hoping Apocalypse story here isn't over and ending it with this kumbaya stuff. Specially given all the dirty villainous stuff his been doing since this Hickman run started. His not a good guy and if this was suppose to be his redemption arc, they didn't do such a great job of it. I wanna say the change in Apocalypse started with Hickman, but I noticed a change in the character when he mysteriously returned after the Celestials took him in 2006's X-Men Vol 2 186. I mean sure Hickman seems to have dropped the Celestial side of him, and seemingly his goal to push mutants to become stronger and to also create the perfect host to contain his growing power. He once admitted this to Cyclops, and his want to ascend to his rightful place among the Celestial Patheon. Big things like this are what drives Apocalypse seems to have been left out of this run for his sudden need ("that was always his need") to unit mutants in piece, and to join his wife in exile one day etc. But again Apocalypse methods were very similar to those he used back in his early days of the late 80's and 90's, just now he used magic. So my hope is that this isn't the end of him, and we'll see that there is another part of his plans at some point.

I definitely know Genesis is salty after this major loss in the eyes of Arako especially how their culture is

Lmao hell yeah at the beginning. This is issue is why JJBA was so interesting to me. It's not how they use their stands. It's how they use them. Also I hope Genesis and Storm can reconcile their differences now Genesis isn't under Annihilation anymore.

Kind of disappointed that Al Ewing made Genesis able to almost kill Storm after building her up throughout the X-Men Red series. They're both omegas, but I've always thought Storm is superior to her in raw power. Storm would've crushed her the moment she felt something wasn't right. What happened to the Storm that turned into energy incarnate when Doom turned her into stone? It was as though Al Ewing was navigating Storm into this direction only to let her down and regard her again as a lightning lass in the end. Yeah, all the elements and ambient energies at her disposal, and but here we are again being so creative with another lightning bolt to save the day.

The way this story has been panning out, Storm knew she could just go primal and take Genesis head on but had she done that she would have to face the fall out and casualties that would come with letting loose. It's the same reason why she turned down Uranos' offer. She didn't want a Man of Steel ending. She has always been a strategist and found a way to beat her without getting all of her people killed.

I truly thought AE was gonna rectify that senseless battle with Storm vs Vulcan and redeem himself with a greater battle with Storm vs Genesis and again here we are..well here I am completely unsatisfied. It was a great arc as far as the the story itself goes but the battles and not just Storm’s but every battle was lazy..it says "I’m here for the money only..I will give Marvel and Storm fans a good but quick read and I’m gone". Storm, Magneto, Vulcan, Apocalypse, Cable, Sunspot and Nova…oh and Sunfire….I mean im glad he focused on Storm’s tactical strategic prowess which proves she’s on par with Captain America, Black Panther, Cyclops, Nick Fury and Brand but at the same time we need a bit of power display during a heated battle and I see he’s doing the same with Thor. He did a good job tho

My only issue is the whole giant kijuu was kinda unnecessary to have, yes they will use it later on to most likely bring back the island fir the mutants. I would rather have genesis and storm duke it out, with over the top powers. But im still happy with the outcome, i just dread the end of the Krakos era. Cause i hope they dont do a reset (due to some spoilers i saw with fall and rise and something to do with a past moria)

It'll be nice if Marvel Comics would make a Genesis action figure. But to make her just as tall as Apocalypse. Because there's a tall action figure of Apocalypse. So Marvel Comics needs to make a Genesis action figure just as tall.

Sidenote: having an xmen fighting game DNF style is the game we did not ask for but deserve...

X-Men red was by far my favorite to this point. X-Men has been building up to something for so long it's kinda boring. But I can't wait for the payoff. On the DC side of things I'm crazy excited about Bloodwynd being back. The superman of Hell is everything bro. Loving the character building they doing with Raphael arce. They even got him shoulder to shoulder with the big blue boy scout.

OK poison ivy did better use of her powers and she wasn't even that strong I could've seen such power to show why Genesis would even have a claim to the throne but all we got from her is vine whips 😅😂😂 anywho great series

It's impossible to guess which Nightcrawler body that is from because Nightcrawler died in his attempts on various missions against Orchis about as many times as Logan did. Which is 10.

I don't see how Genesis is an Omega level mutant. At best her powers are just like DC's Poison Ivy - powerful, but not Omega level. To me, Omega Level with plant powers would be like how Swamp Thing can control plant matter inside people and animals and harm/kill them. We have never seen Genesis do this. The staff of Annihilation was too easily destroyed.

What? In this very issue and in another back issue we understand that Genesis can attack using the flora contained in the body of her enemies. Storm is under such an attack while Annihilation communicates with her. Yeah, I was expecting a drag out fight over a couple more issues

​@renahgade1750 it's not quite the same as what Swamp Thing does Swamp Thung can do what genesis did with controlling flora in people's guts and such but he can actually manipulate plant matter that people have eaten and turn them into plants that burst out of peoples stomachs and mouths. Since Storm tends to be vegetarian, this type of attack would have immediately killed her off or taken her down. All Genesis did was make Ororp feel ill. Poison Ivy can literally do everything that Genesis has displayed so far and more because Poison Ivy also manipulates plant pheromones and toxins. Genesis isn't anything special without the now easily destroyed Annihilation staff. Annihilation is supposed to be a god and yet 1 lightning bolt destroyed it.

Gods also derive power from human worship/faith. Storm has God like power but isn't a God. The only mutants that resemble God's are Jean Grey when she is bonded with the Phoenix and Exodus who gets more powerful when people have faith in him and is essentially immortal - like how we saw him in that alternate timelinecwhere he became a celestial bring because millions of mutants worshipped him.

It's their uniforms that are AWFUL....can't wait til the mutants lose conquering other worlds storyline and stick to its basic message...by rebooting their original idea of being feared on earth

So all it would’ve taken to defeat the helm of Annihilation at any point over the last 4 thousand years was to melt her?

Best writing for storm my entire ass. This series did nothing to challenge her power set and help readers really understand what she can do. I like that she's apart of more comic events but it pisses me off that the writers keep disguising their lazy ass writing under the "she would go mad, mother nature must be controlled" nonsense we've been getting for decades now. I dont care what BS theories the writers want people to conclude about why we never get see her go full S.T.O.R.M. I'm not buying it. Read between the damn lines people....OVER IT.

*very underwhelming conclusion,* but i'm so happy i never have to read another x-men comic again. RANTING TIME: 1. they ruined the definition of omega. it used to be someone with god-like abilities, such as reality warping, extremely powerful telekinesis or telepathy, resurrection, existing as pure energy, etc. now, you can have any lame or generic power, and you're an omega, so people who aren't omega can beat your ass. this is why Magneto got whooped by Northstar; and Redroot stayed captive for so long in Otherworld; and Ora Serrata got so easily defeated by Sunspot. 2. the female empowerment nonsense is tiring. Storm beat Vulcan and stalemated Exodus with just weather manipulation. Ajax became imbued with Celestial powers at the end of _judgment day._ Rasputin IV, another OP female, joined the prime continuity at the end of _sins of sinister_ Cyclops is regularly getting his ass beat. Ora Serrata is now "Xilora" after melding with Xilo. Wolverine is supposed to be the best at what he does, but they had him saying: "folks call me scary. not compared to Cat (Kitty Pride)."🙄 Wolverine even recently got beat by some Wakandan thugs who Black Panther easily defeated.🙄🙄🙄 3. they don't know how to wrap up their storylines. Genesis is supposed to be fitter than apocalypse, yet she got taken down by two stinkin' lightning bolts. and, i almost puked when i saw the two islands hugging each other in some lovey-dovey nonsense.🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 this was supposed to be the opportunity for Storm to enter her goddess form, Hadari Yao, and Genesis becoming fully empowered with demon magic from Annihilation, then they have an all out battle with feats and twists. instead, we got this underwhelming, steaming pile of crap. i will NEVER read another x-men comic again. rant over!

Storm ascends to lead a group of ugly mutants. But instead of a knife fight, her opponent gives her bubble guts. A predictable and boring end to a story led by a predictable and boring character.

There are videos where you start to do it and you don't actually get to the end of the thing you are talking about, or spend most your time doing that and when you get to the most interesting part of the story or the most important part you cover it in such a vague and uninformative way that I have begun to notice.
