I enjoy your philosophy videos, i listen to them when i draw. I was curious about doing a drawing for you, for the channel, or anything in general that i could draw. (I'm best at abstract/doodling). Looking forward to the next video. Thank you for your time and efforts.

The teachings on the strange loop by Hofstadter and the reintegration of the particle into a wave at the double slit in quantum mechanics puts meat on the bone to Hegel's assertion of the Spirit reintegrating all within itself: excellent video as always

Never understood why people say that Hegel is difficult--for me, he has been the easiest and most enjoyable writer. I'm constantly thinking I'm missing something.

The scheme Thesis-Antithesis-Synthesis is wrongly ascribed to Hegel. This scheme belongs to Marx (The Poverty of Philosophy) and the later works of Schiller. The problem with that scheme is that it misrepresents the dialectic movement as a mechanism that produces "synthesis' " and looks up to create an eternal peace by reconciling the "thesis" and "antithesis". Actually, Hegel would reject that scheme because it's more like an a-priori scheme that we apply to reality while all Hegel wants to do is to "export" the dialectic movement from reality and not apply something to it. The reality produces itself constantly and Geist is absolutely free to do what it wants.

You know, misattribution of the "Thesis/Antithesis/Synthesis" definition of dialectics makes me wonder where most people get their Marx and Hegel intel from, because it's clearly not the source. Any that's fair; we're all probably here to get a compressed foundation of understanding to fill in the gaps, but... if we're all stuck getting regurgitated information that's removed from the original context my multiple points of interpretation, then that's a problem.

I don’t really get why Hegel was so popular? I don’t find his philosophy that thought provoking really.
