Thanks a bunch! I was really interested in this guitar and as usual you gave me loads more info than I had. For a while Epiphone made these with OBL (Bill Lawrence - used to be head of production at Gibson) pickups and bolt-on necks.

Hi Mr Swede and it's lovely to hear from you :-) They are so well made and so dreadfully set up but as you know that's not a deal breaker. Speaking of bolt-on necks, it's strange the way people dismiss a bolt-on neck guitar from Epiphone or Gibson (Sonex, Marauder etc.) but everyone's fine with a Fender! Cheers, Gary :-)

Another great, informative and enjoyable demo of a stunning "hawk" Foxy. I must admit, I was a doubting Thomas over Nancy Wilsons claim to have created that design, but hearing that she sketched it back in the 80's, well before Gibson released their Nighthawk adds credence to that. I do love that shape, very feminine in style as stated. That may put some Male players off, but I know they have quite a following and can churn out some serious grunt as required. That revised Gibson authorised headstock for Epiphone with true maple flame cap on their new models has really elevated the build quality and the Epiphone brand in my opinion. I checked on line, those are now on 10 week order timescale . Looking forward to your next installment.

Hi there Bob and thanks mate 🙂 Yes, it certainly seems that the gorgeous Nancy has some artistic skills and certainly some foresight. I enjoyed this guitar (once set up) as much as anything and I genuinely felt like I was talking about and handling a bona fide Gibson such was the quality of the instrument. You're absolutely right about the ten week lead time and the price quoted for an advance order from GAK is £549. Bet those cheapies from Andertons are long gone. Cheers 🙂

I think all signature stuff has a limited appeal but certainly wonderful value, the ebony fretboard alone puts it out in front of its Epi LP cousins. Wasn't keen on the shape but the womanly story kind of made me actually warm to it,

Hi there Michael 🙂 I will happily admit that signature guitars are absolutely not my thing but my bottom line with these is, as you say, the quality components. Truss rod cover could always be changed for a blank one and at least Nancy's signature is tucked away at the back of the headstock. The current price is unbelievable considering you get a proper branded hardshell case, too. Cheers 🙂

I bought one and love it. It's not a Les Paul at all. More like a Tele/Strat. Great video

@@FoxysGuitarShow It's set up fine but I find the volume knob is in my way if I don't stay aware of it. Even considering moving it below the tone knob and leaving a hole there. Talk about hybrid! Thanks again for the great videos.

Evenin' Sir...very close to grabbing another of these...I play a lot in Trad. Irish tuning as well as standard...would like another so as not to have to re-tune...been checking out others...but...again...strings thru...ebony board...25.5 scale...case...nothing out there like this...and the online joint I buy from will give me $79 off...making it a $500 axe...again , nothing else I've checked out comes close...

What I've watched Nancy talking about the Nighthawk, and what I've understanded, it's kind of like a Les Paul but with more feminine energy. I would love to try one, but no one sells them in my country.

Hi there Christian and thanks :-) I'm so impressed with these guitars but all 3 have needed setting up. My advice is to get one from a shop and get their in-house guitar tech to sort it out before you part with any money otherwise you'll need to pay for a set-up. However, when I last looked, there's two at Anderton's for £419 which is ridiculously cheap and that includes a £95 hardshell case! Cheers :-)
