This is a bass for people that don’t want to compete with a guitarist and support the rhythm section. Great demo!
The sound of this bass it's not for everybody, but I just love it.

This review convinced me this was the perfect bass for me and I am not disappointed. It's muddy and great for my style of music. Great quality and fun to play. Thanks for keeping it real!
This was my first bass ever, my grandfather bought it for me for Christmas when I was around 12

Always! It's never smoke and mirrors. Spend more get more. That doesn't diminish the value of lower lines, it just proves the point. Thanks for watching - Anthony
Just spoke to this dude. "He rocks the cradle on his opinion and honesty". A+10=200% All Pro.
i'm here because i just bought one from a friend for $20. Didn't know what it was because I've never seen a short scale Epiphone SG bass before. It's in great shape, needed some intonation but sounds decent. I guess I got a good deal.

Not a bad bass, just a shame that Epiphone skrimped a little and used ply Wood on the body
Sounds incredible...
It’s a great bass for what it does! Limited yes. But I love it .
Would sound great on the 80s punk
I think it sounds great, it sounds like a bass should !
It does a great job of sounding like an upright bass through an amp
good job on all aspects
You describe this bass perfectly and the sound here is exactly how they sound. Like you say, it has its place. I love the vintage look, gotta think Jack Bruce! I use mine strictly for sofa play thru headphones because it does get lost in a band setting. My older Korean made version is rock solid and plays like a dream, an overlooked short scale, I think.

I found one in a pawn shop, I saw that it was made in the Unsung plant in Korea in 1998. I had to have it. I also have an Epiphone Les Paul from the same plant from 1997. Both are solid and stay in tune very well.

Very cool basses indeed. I always have a sweet spot for these models. Quirky and cool... very playable. Thanks for watching - Anthony
this bass is perfect for raggae kind of music
The fretboard says granadillo on Thomann's website. I googled the wood, and it's considered as a type of rosewood. So it's somewhere in the family. Also I've seen Fender mention rosewood for some of their Squiers, but then on Thomann it says laurel or indian laurel. But that has nothing to do with rosewood.
Likely Indian laurel fretboard since it's an epiphone, which hey nothing wrong there though I'd likely dye it if I got one
Great review! I had a 71 Gibson EB-O. Sorry I sold it. I've played the Epi version and I may have o buy one.

Thanks Chuck! This video was filmed a while ago... but I remember enjoying this bass. The neck pickup solo'ed is always one of my favorite tones! Thanks for watching - Anthony
I'd love to hear this bass with flatwounds tbh
I just bought one off eBay 103 UK bucks! Don't even have it yet, nor not never no how any ability! Yet! 😁 I must be a Yeti.

Unique sound of Gibson/Epiphone. You'll never get such sound at any of the 1000 brands out there.
i have this bass some years now and it has problems fret buzzing really bad and some issues with the electrics . Is it only me? although i set it up a guitar store guy told me its not a good idea to fix this and buy a new one. Any suggestions?
@mbmrip11

It’s possible that the neck is bent like mine, assuming you’ve already tried a bridge and truss rod adjustment to remedy the buzz. Unless you can fix the electronics yourself with new parts from stew Mac he’s probably right, the repairs would cost the same as a new bass. These are $250-270 new, the repairs would prob cost bout the same. I bought mine used for $120 & it’s the $400 EB3 version, check the used market they’re dirt cheap.
I've been between the Squier affinity pj bass and the Epiphone eb-0. I think I am going to go with the Squier

The Squier is the move if it's your first bass. Much more practical. I love the EB0/EB3 sound but if you're gonna have one, get the squier

Does It sucks? Sucks, your bandmates gonna hate it. But, if you can take the medium off, you will find some fun. I recomend using with a fuzz pedal
