Epimers are the twins with a single point of difference in their configuration. Even that small difference sometimes can bring a large variation in their stability and activity.     Excuse me, sir, but the structure of the D-lyxose formula is not correct. D-lyxose and D-xylose are C-2 epimers. However, the video is very useful and everything is well explained! Thank you!

    for epimers their must be more than two asymmetric carbon. is that true sir??

    Yes, there should be at least two asymmetric carbons for epimers such that they differ in configuration at one carbon only. Compounds with only one asymmetric carbon with opposite configuration are simply enantiomers.
